In this on-going collaboration collection with the team behind Acronym, they present this season also several bags. Of course they come with all the technical features one could wish for, yet look 100% like Stone Island product. An overall very solid offering. The Stone Island Shadow Project Collection, a collaboration with Acronym, made its debut last season. We had no doubt that the combined technical knowledge and aesthetic of the two brands would come up with an impressive collection.

Today first pieces from the Spring/Summer 2009 Collection have been released. Once again they chose subtle colors and concentrated on the details of each piece. No piece in the collection is what it first seems, but so much more. It is really the attention to detail that make each piece stand out.

The Glade carries a couple of new shirts and jackets from the new collection.

Detailed images follow after the jump.

The combination of classic silhouettes and advanced technologies has proven an interesting sub-trend in contemporary fashion. Most of these focus on adding a tweak here or there, or reinterpreting a garment in a new fabric. The STONE ISLAND SHADOW project takes the step further. In some respects it reverses logical thinking. Garments are reformed from the inside.

A collaborative effort between Stone Island and Acronym the Shadow Project is a merger. A completely new theoretical tack on the preexisting archival resources of Stone Island, through the lens of Acronym. We present you a preview of the ‘08-’09 line, complete with the intriguing full story behind the aims and goals of this ambitious work.
We show you the complete collection, model shots as well as a video demonstrating the functionality of the collection.

Stone Island x Acronym – The Shadow Project

03 May 2008, 00.10 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

stone island x acronym - the shadow project - highsnobietySince a couple of months we have heard rumors about Stone Island working with the design team behind Acronym on an upcoming Fall/Winter ‘08 capsule collection. We could not imagine a better fit. Both brands are known for high quality outerwear with lots of technical features and material research involved. Now we finally came across some more information on “The Shadow Project” and can also show you a first piece of the line.
“Stone Island’s Shadow project began as a discourse between Sportswear Company owner Carlo Rivetti and the design team of Michaela Sachenbacher and Errolson Hugh, also known as Acronym. A platform for exploration, the Shadow project rapidly evolved into a system based program for a new generation of urban masculine apparel.

Stone Island Black Label

stone island black label - highsnobiety
Stone Island has been one of our favorite labels for years now, especially because they never followed any trends and always concentrated on being innovative. That is something rare nowadays, especially by a small independent company. They develop all materials themselves.

A while back we heard that an upcoming collection by the brand was designed by Errolson from Acronym and of course we got excited. Luckily we ran into him a few weeks ago in Berlin and he told us a bit about it and also showed us some samples of the Fall collection. The Stone Island Black Label will get to stores end of the year and will be a little different from the usual Stone Island collection, while still being very innovative, if not even more. Smart design with lots of functionality, the same principles that made Acronym so popular are also the core values of this new collection. Thankfully they also adjusted the cuts a little, because Stone Island is very Italian in their cuts, resulting in overall very short pieces.
Keep your eyes open for this collection, it will blow you away in a few months. Thanks for the pic to Jeff Staple.

Stone Island Antiqued Reflective Light Jacket

RTEmagicC stoneisland lightjacket.jpg Stone Island Antiqued Reflective Light Jacket
Forget 3M, Stone Island once again takes it to the next level and introduces the Limited Edition Antiqued Light Reflective Jacket.
The jacket has been produced using a special high-refraction fabric capable to reflect even the slightest amount of light such as a single pocket torch beam at the distance of 300 meters and weak moon light. Amazingly, the outer shell of the jacket is made up thousands of glass microspheres. Not only is the light totally reflected, but its intensity is further enhanced thanks to the brilliant colour of the fabric, which shows up even if the wearer is completely in the dark.
The jacket also has the Special Edition White Label arm patch and theres the internal utility pocket. It is available in strictly limited numbers at Triads and comes in a special edition presentation box.

Stone Island x Oki-Ni Jacket

RTEmagicC stoneisland okini.jpg Stone Island x Oki Ni Jacket
We have always been fans of the Italian brand Stone Island, mostly for its innovation in the outerwear market. Now they got together with UK store Oki-Ni on a collaboration jacket.
Designed and produced exclusively for oki-ni.com, there are only 100 of these available worldwide. The jacket is a cropped hooded blouson made from the heritage Stone Island fabric Raso Gommato, which is a rubberised cotton satin. It has two front jet pockets which close by zip and has a drawstring collar and bottom. The lining is executed in black felt and is detachable from the body of the jacket.
The outer of the jacket has a dual fastening with both zip and button being used. Each piece is individually garment dyed to give a fuller and more rounded colour to the jacket. Each jacket comes seal wrapped and in a specially produced oki-ni x Stone Island box complete with Stone Island Jacket hanger.
Definitely a special piece – timeless and functional!
