It looks like Dover Street Market and Comme des Garcons will have lots of surprises for us with the opening of their new Ginza store. We can already confirm a collaboration between Bape and Comme des Garcons PLAY, Supreme and Comme des Garcons SHIRT and now it also looks like the first ever Adam Kimmel store, designed by Adam Kimmel, will be housed inside the DSM Ginza space.

After just winning the Denmark Global Innovation Award, we thought we had to give you a look inside the incredible Normann Copenhagen flagship store.
The design brand, founded in 1999, has today about 38 design objects in its own collection. A couple of years ago they took over a 1700 qm space in Copenhagen, previously housing a theatre, sound studio, cinema and water distillery. Paying tribute to the former uses of the space, the store was renovated by the brand. Today the concept store carries next to their own products, a wealth of design objects, furniture, clothing, gadgets, art and more, making it a must visit on your next trip to Copenhagen.

New year, new episodes coming to Highsnobiety TV. We open the season with an exciting one.
Highsnobiety stopped by the Golf Wang pop up shop on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles for a visit with store manager Lucas Vercetti,, Tyler, The Creator, Legohead and others. We were given a quick run through of the stockroom which included Golf Wang T-shirts, hats, hoodies and decks. What transpired after was one of the wildest, most spontaneous on camera interviews of recent memory.

London store Hostem has received numerous awards for their unique interior design. Today we present the Chalk Room, the newly added basement space of Hostem, once again designed by James Russell and Hannah Plumb.
“‘The idea of the Chalk Room is to showcase Hostem’s most cherished designers within a unique setting,’ Plumb says. ‘We wanted to create one-off assemblage to house the products so that the focus is on how the designs are curated, and highlighting the craft and skill of the designers.’
Piles of antique suitcases, a Victorian wardrobe reconfigured to be dramatically askew, and even a Wurlitzer organ achieve the requisite sense of traditional craft. The shop’s centrepiece is a transformed 19th-century Chesterfield, extended by oversized church pews, resplendent beneath a cluster of Victorian glass pendant lights.
Even the name Chalk Room is inspired by the past – in this case, Hannah Plumb’s grandfather, who was head tailor at Gieves & Hawkes and whose box of tailor’s chalk she keeps to this day. Discreetly referencing this are walls treated with a matte, chalky finish, while flooring is deliberately scuffed.”
The outcome is simply beautiful – the dark mood, custom furniture and perfect presentation of product. Once again Hostem shows how subtle, yet detailed design, can impress the most.

Recently Levi’s opened a new flagship store in Amsterdam. Designed by agency Como Park, reuse, rebrand, rejuvenate was the concept of the new shop. The new store is not only supposed to reflect the Levi’s brand, but also the city of Amsterdam. When it comes to flagship store design, we are never sure if a local and unique approach or a global easily recognizable approach is the better way to go.
“Jaworski reused the lighting and wooden floor from Levi’s Bread & Butter stand. He left 80 per cent of the walls intact and mounted old doors on vintage church benches to create a long display table for denim apparel.
The inventiveness, passion and humour at the heart of this project might be an interesting starting point for stores in other cities, each of which could morph to become both unique and uniquely Levi’s.”

A couple of weeks ago, Swedish fashion brand Acne opened its second Parisian flagship store in an old garage in the Marais district. Rather than creating a typical French interior, they decided to create a Swedish inspired space, housing their collections. The turn out is a very modern, sharply designed space, that could not stand in more contrast to the beautiful old architecture of the French capital.

On December 19, 2011 Dior Homme opened its first retail boutique in San Francisco, California. Located at 216 Stockton Street in Union Square, the boutique occupies two floors and 2,200 square feet of retail space, and features a mix of men’s ready-to-wear and accessories. This is the seventh Dior Homme boutique in the United States, of which three – New York, Beverly Hills, and now San Francisco – are freestanding.
The Dior Homme boutique in San Francisco, like the other stores, is designed as a unique, multi- dimensional space incorporating luxe materials with rich, tactile finishes throughout. The format brings together distinct modern and traditional elements that reflect the modern and traditional aesthetic of the Dior Homme brand.
To enhance the tactile environment of the boutique, Dior Homme has commissioned San Francisco-based artist and illustrator Hannah Stouffer to install a unique wall mural occupying the second floor landing of the staircase. The mural will stand to evoke the bold, masculine Dior Homme aesthetic, while also bridging the unique architecture of the space.
The boutique will offer merchandise across all categories presently available under the Dior Homme label, including ready-to-wear, footwear, eyewear, leather goods, watches, jewelry, and fragrance.
