German magazine Streetwear Today asked K1X to produce a basketball themed spread for their upcoming Bread & Butter issue, releasing in the coming weeks. Basketball brand K1X recruited photographer Robert Wunsch and Parisian artist Yue Wu aka Nyno to work on the spread.

Shot on location in Berlin, the pictures include ALBA Berlin basketball pros and European bball legend Ademola Okulaja, along with local heroes and tastemakers. The basketball gear by K1X was complemented by product from Supreme, Stussy, Nike Sportswear, Wood Wood, Happy Socks, WeSC and Triwa.

The mix of urban city photography, sport and the final touches of artist Yue Wu came out beautiful. Today we can give you an exclusive look at some select images of the spread, along with some nice behind the scenes material. The full “Hoop Dreams” editorial spread will be released in the upcoming issue of Streetwear Today, which will drop July 2nd. Also the images will go on display June 18th at the Streetwear Today iPhone App launch event in Bochum.

The new issue of Streetwear Today is out and is entitled “Product Fundamentalism”, with Hiroki Nakamura of Visvim being on the cover. Aside from an in-depth Nakamura interview, the issue also features interviews and features on Aaron Rose, Ed Templeton, Zaha Hadid and many other interesting figures in the art/fashion/design world. Looks like it is certainly worth picking up!

The new Issue of Streetwear Today has dropped. The cover story is on Johnny Schillereff, founder of Element Skateboards. Further more they present the new Levi’s shop concept, Levi’s Blue Lab Store. Also the new issue presents products by Billabong, Carhartt, Futura, Suburban Bliss and many others.
Bottom line, it’s once again an issue that you should not be missing out on!

With Bread & Butter getting closer, the new Streetwear Today issue is about to release – Issue 23: Quality Over Quantity. The cover story, an interview with Eddie Cruz (Union LA, Stussy LA, Undefeated), is of course a perfect fit for the theme.
Other interesting personalities that appear in this issue are Haze, 7th Letter Crew, Steve Caballero. Also they present the latest stores, brands and a lot more. Make sure to pick it up!

Lodown Magazine released their latest issue, number 58. The latest issue features GZA, Chrome Hoof, Dan MC Pharlin, Gus Van Sant, Chloé, Kim Simonsson, The Oil Crash, Bumblebeez, Colson Whitehead, The Fantastic Nobodies and many more. It is now available in their online store for purchase!

Theme Magazine dropped their Fall ‘07 Issue. This issue features people who haven’t just thrown money at a problem, but rather worked creatively, using their own talents to change a little part of the world. Yoshihihiro Tanigu’s Digmeout’s do-gooder strategy pairs emerging artists with real clients; Artist Miwa Koizumi repurposes trash to create nature-themed art.

It’s been out a couple of weeks, but we thought we’d mention it anyways – the new Monocle Issue. As usual very interesting and just perfect to get a bit out of the constant fashion/streetwear reading. From the Longest Serving Leaders, Starbucks opening in Russia to music and of course the Monocle Manga, you will not get bored!

The latest  Streetwear Today is being released. It places emphasis on the concept of “pushing buttons”, i.e. to set an impulse, to make something run, to work on it and test it – like startin’ something and tryin’ something new. They cover Florian Böhm, Ron English, Funkmaster Flex, JB Classics, and lots more. STW2D Issue 22, something you should definitely check out!

Last but not least we also want to mention a new book that just recently dropped – Traphic. TRAPHIC is the first visual book by Thomas ‘Marok’ Marecki in a series of conceptual publications by Unagi Books, also including an essay by journalist Renko Heuer. TRAPHIC presents an interpretation of various networks, time frames, experiences and the general surroundings of modern-day existence, through a combination of visuals and texts based around the headline : ‘traffic’ + ‘graphic’ = TRAPHIC. Published by Unagi Books.
