We’ve been seeing more Year of the Dragon Chinese Zodiac product pop up in the news, most recently with this New Balance pack, but this time around here with Stussy. This collection features some interesting dragon graphics as well as the double ‘S’ logo reworked with the mythological creature contorting to form the letter indicative of the brand. The drop is comprised of a couple of jackets, including one made of velour and another in satin, as well as tees and dragon mesh cap. The Hundreds have unveiled their Spring 2012 lookbook, and here is a look at the the Los Angeles-based brand came up with. Thanks to photographer, Seth Fluker, TH was able to put together a very well photographed showcasing of the collection. It’s a more grown up and subdued range with a lot of highly wearable pieces including button down shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, shorts and pants. Although many feel they have outgrown the brand’s more youthful styles, this collection definitely has some appeal to the more discerning streetwear consumer.

After 26 years of existence, The Garbage Pail Kids have finally jumped into the wacky world of collaborations. The Hundreds, whose love for the 80’s is well documented throughout their apparel, are the first to work with the iconic characters who debuted back in 1985. The collection consists of some Adam Bomb crewnecks, tees and snapbacks, TH x GPK key chains, and 4 tees featuring the key members of The Hundreds in Garbage Pail Kid form. The collection is available on Thursday, December 15, at The Hundreds Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Santa Monica flagship locations, as well as online and authorized retailers.

The Hundreds have scored some really big collaborations as far as working with notable artists go. This time around, TH works with Ron English on a capsule collection consisting of 3 different graphics and 9 tees total. The 3 graphic tees, ‘Rabbit’, ‘Cowgirl’, and ‘Smiley’ will be available this week at all TH flagship locations. Also, for those in Southern California, English will be appearing at the TH Santa Monica location on Sunday, November 20 from 1-2pm to sign autographs.

In the early 1900s Manchester’s Oldham Street was the heart of a vibrant cotton industry. Connecting that history with Carhartt’s own is the driving force behind the design for the new shop in the Lancashire city. The location is not just a retail spot, but an art space as well. The inaugural exhibition features art work by locally based artist Guy McKinley. Store photos are provided by Mancunian lecturer Dr. Jamie Kraft.

This is the first time Carhartt has opened a retail location outside of London in the eleven years since the original Neal Street shop. Doors in Manchester open today, May 2, 2008.

It was just announced yesterday, that Burton has acquited DNA Distribution.
“Snowboard bohemoth Burton has expanded its reach into the skate market, yesterday acquiring DNA Distribution for an undisclosed sum. DNA includes the brands Alien Workshop, Reflex and Habitat, which offer both hard- and softgoods for the skateboarding market.
In recent seasons, the Burlington, Vt.-based Burton has been expanding beyond its snowboarding roots. In June 2006, the company acquired Santa Barbara-based Channel Islands Surfboards, landing it in the surf market. In a statement, Burton CEO said, “This acquisition completes a strategy that we have been very focused on for quite some time and marks a new milestone in the evolution of Burton and its family of brands.”” Via DNR.

Amongst Friends is a crisp new line out this Spring. Though the line was developed by Mikol Stambough, it is much more a true collaborative effort between Mikol and his close friends which “utilizes the resources that develop through genuine friendships.” Hence the name of the line.

We have already reported several times about Dreamteam Clothing from Germany. The European market has still not established a strong base of streetwear brands, with most people looking at the US and Asia. Slowly we are seeing some changes and Dreamteam is at the forefront of the movement.
Based in Duesseldorf Germany, the creatives behind the brand have made a strong name for themselves in the design sector and now translated that into their own clothing line. The first collection by the brand consists of t-shirts, hoodies, as well as 5-panel caps. The entire collection is cut & sew and of superior quality, just like we are used from most European brands, even at an early stage.

Dreamteam will be showing their collection at Bread & Butter Barcelona, Bright Frankfurt as well as in Düsseldorf at the tradeshows.
