In an interesting new collaboration, the French brands L.G.R. and A.P.C. have teamed up on a new pair of unisex sunglasses. The frames are all handmade in Italy, using cellulose acetate. Look out for these in stores from May 10th, 2012.

An interplay of reality and virtual games: Prada presents ‘Folding in Love’, a brief and intense adventure of an object, in this case sunglasses, which is the flying lead character in a multi-level surreal journey. As befits the classic ‘arcade’ videogames, after travelling through multiple worlds in the Prada universe, the adventure ends in a romantic epilogue.

Everybody’s favorite retro Jordan colorway is back in the form of sunglasses by 9Five Eyewear. This limited release, dubbed the ‘2Three’ is a leather wrapped frame with elephant print temples and fire red inners. The shades also come packaged in a miniature shoe box. For Spring/Summer 2012 Ray-Ban continues with its Wayfarer Rare Prints Collection. Two new designs are being introduces this season – Typadelic and Blocks. Both designs come in a series of color variations, all in a distinct 80s style, and are arriving at retailers in the coming weeks.

As we inch towards the Spring/Summer 2012 season SUPER introduces the Poisson series made up of a couple of pairs of sunglasses to help prep the mood for the sunny days ahead. Two different styles, the Paloma and America, both have classical styling, with each being fitted with tobacco colored lenses. The packaging is also cool as it features a fish print matching with the interior of the arms of the frames. Both are available for purchase now at SUPER.

For their 5th collaboration with Barneys NYC, SUPER created a pair of sunglasses in slick crystal acetate. The look is “clean and translucent so you can see and appreciate the frame and finesse of the skeleton within in its meticulous detail. The crystal is teamed with another rudimentary SUPER favorite: solid matte metal, keeping things essential.” Available now at SUPER and in Barneys COOP stores.

Not only did Bape work with Schott and with George Cox for Spring 2012, but they also get together with Sunpocket, known for their foldable sunglasses. They chose to go with a matte army green colorway and polarized lenses on their model, packaged in a custom Bape camouflage case.

Aside from the great backpack, there is one other item that we right away noticed in the new Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 Collection – the new wooden sunglasses. Some great craftsmanship went into these, combining the wooden frame with an inner metal frame, holding the lenses. The sunglasses come in two colorways and should release soon at LV stores around the globe.

Stussy is lending a hand to Swagger, who is celebrating their 12th year in existence. The two got together on some tees in three colors as well as two very simple and handsome sunglasses and a New Era 59Fifty fitted cap. The tees come in a sky blue, white and black and bear branding from both brands, while the shades come in a very solid light brown tortoise and a sophisticated black.
