Once again XLarge has teamed up with Sabre to work on some eyewear for Summer 2011. This time around they present the ‘No Control’ frame in overall three colorways, each coming with sun protecting lenses or with clear lenses. The eyewear will be released July 2011.

Following the announcement of DITA and Thom Browne’s new project, we can now take a closer look at the debut collection for FW11. “While DITA provide superior construction and craftsmenship, the aesthetic is defined by Browne’s signature sensibilities. The focus for the collection is derived from architects, politicians, studio artists, designers and professors from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s while each piece is completed with the signatiure tri-color red, white and blue branding.”

Canadian brand Ransom gets together with wooden sunglass brand Shwood. For Summer 2011 they worked on the Canby silhouette of Shwood. Ransom locally sourced Canadian Oak to be used for the frame, which comes numbered and limited to only 50 pieces. Details include the Ransom Swords emblem laser etched into the arm of the frame, polarized lenses and special edition packaging.

The sunglasses are now available in the Ransom online store.

Australian brand Ksubi presents their new Summer 2011 Eyewear Collection. Offering a range of silhouettes, most of them take inspiration from classics. Nevertheless Ksubi manages to add details to every single one of them, making them stand out of the mass and giving them a unique signature. The sunglasses are all handmade and are in stores now.

Oakley has released an exclusive colorway of their iconic Frogskin sunglasses via Oki-Ni. The lightweight frame is rendered in a split color, coming part black and part transparent. The sunglasses were exclusively reproduced for the UK retailer in an edition of 35 pieces.

Crooks & Castles has worked a couple of years ago with Misley Tribes on eyewear and now introduces their first own collection for Summer 2011. Several styles, inspired by all time classics, are part of the collection. Drake is the face of the Crooks eyewear campaign this season.

CONTEGO’s ‘The Kipling’ frame, has been re-imagined for W Hotels with design influences from each of their three Global Glam locations. “For W Taipei, sharp red frames play to the vibrancy of the Taiwanese city. The eclectic W Austin will be home to country-inspired woodgrain frames. We take a look at one of latest pairs of sunglasses to come from Los Angeles brand Chrome Hearts for Summer 2011. As with most of their collection, these sunglasses also come with a great span of details, including the application of leather, metal and aged 925 silver. The sunglasses, which come in a classic aviator form, are available this season in two colorways.

SUPER has teamed up with Hong Kong brand izzue and style icon Hilary Tsui on two pairs of Flat Top sunglasses. The sunglasses were produced to complement the upcoming capsule collection that Tsui has designed for izzue.

“The vintage black/beige colour combo is in keeping with SUPER’s revamped-retro aesthetic, to varying degrees on either model: The Flat Tops are available either with a black frame and lense, and beige inside, or in a beige frame with black lense, black inside. Acquire shows us the new Raw limited edition collection from Italian-eyewear label L.G.R. “The sunglasses have a unpolished, matte frame and use “Pola.Neophan” lenses which is a polarized lens with an oleo and hydrophobic coating on the inside and outside of the lenses for smudge, dirt, and oil resistance.”
