Wooden sunglass specialists, Shwood, teams up with Boston’s Bodega on this special pair of shades done also in collaboration with Bushmills Irish Whiskey. This special pair of sunglasses is limited to 100 pieces. They’re constructed out of 100 year old White Oak wood from Bushmills’ whiskey barrels. They will be packaged in a special wooden whiskey crate and they will come with a crowbar so you can pry open the case. A lot of effort was put into these and we genuinely are appreciative of it. Good stuff.

Known for its constant innovation in fabric and design, Italian brand Stone Island is now making a move into eyewear and will be introducing its first collection soon. In collaboration with EG Brand, Stone Island developed a limited edition collection of sunglasses, with a clear release date not announced yet.

“Carlo Rivetti, Stone Island’s creative director and president, worked with EG Brands on the line, which will offer modern interpretations of iconic eyewear designs. Only 400 pairs will be produced and they will all be made in Italy and offer lenses from Carl Zeiss Vision.

The glasses will offer carbon fiber rims and are available in four colors — black, green, blue and red — which were created by using colored pigments suspended in transparent resin, leaving the texture of the carbon fiber visible. The retail prices have not been determined.

The collection will be sold at opticians, in Stone Island stores and in selected multibrand apparel stores.”

Mosley Tribes has just put out their latest lookbook not only focusing on the eyewear itself, but the california sun lifestyle that comes with it. Skateboarding, pretty girls, the sun and an overall vibrant lifestyle is definitely a showpiece for the Hollywood based brand. This showcase not only highlights these lifestyles, but where Mosley stands within these different realms all brought together by one key element being the sun. The array of plastic, metal and various other frames is now available.

Miansai’s sunglass safety straps have been a perfect companion for your sunglasses and it looks like Mosley Tribes has acknowledged that as they have linked up with the accessories brand for this special release. The sunglass company hooked up a special pair of custom matte black frames laced with cutouts designed with silver hooks to attach the safety rope to. This collaborative will be available exclusively at Barney’s CO-OP locations and they’re also available for pre-order at Miansai’s site.

The Vintage Frames Company has once again been given the distinct honour of being able to collaborate with Ultra Eyewear to bring to life their vision of the 1977 classic Ultra Goliath 2. The “Snow White Project” Ultra Goliath 2 was produced with the original Goliath 2 mold in Holland, in the same factory they used in 1977.

Accompanying the release is a pictorial shot in Montreal depicting a modern day Snow White. The Snow White Project Goliath 2 is only available at www.VintageFramesShop.com and is limited to 50 frames and is offered with either tinted or clear lenses.

In an interesting new collaboration, the French brands L.G.R. and A.P.C. have teamed up on a new pair of unisex sunglasses. The frames are all handmade in Italy, using cellulose acetate. Look out for these in stores from May 10th, 2012.
