As we inch towards the Spring/Summer 2012 season SUPER introduces the Poisson series made up of a couple of pairs of sunglasses to help prep the mood for the sunny days ahead. Two different styles, the Paloma and America, both have classical styling, with each being fitted with tobacco colored lenses. The packaging is also cool as it features a fish print matching with the interior of the arms of the frames. Both are available for purchase now at SUPER.

For their 5th collaboration with Barneys NYC, SUPER created a pair of sunglasses in slick crystal acetate. The look is “clean and translucent so you can see and appreciate the frame and finesse of the skeleton within in its meticulous detail. The crystal is teamed with another rudimentary SUPER favorite: solid matte metal, keeping things essential.” Available now at SUPER and in Barneys COOP stores.

As part of their ‘Carpets and Rugs in Sports’ Collection, Australian brand P.A.M. has teamed up with Italian brand SUPER on two pairs of sunglasses. The capsule collection presents the ‘Lucia’ and ‘Ciccio’ shapes featuring P.A.M.’s signature touch of an all-over ‘Tapis’ (carpet) print and Zeiss gold mirrored lens. The two styles are exclusive to the P.A.M. flagship store in Sydney and their Someday store in Melbourne and a few select retailers around the globe.

Italian eyewear brand SUPER presents their new range of sunglasses for Fall/Winter 2011. Continuing to explore Panama, the brand presents a series of well defined and characteristic silhouettes, headed by metal and acetate combined shapes.

Next to introducing several new silhouettes, including the Racer model, SUPER also releases great new variations of their classic, using new colors and prints to set accents. Overall the new collection is somewhat classic in comparison to their previous lines, yet perfectly suiting for the winter months. We love the new matte colors, the anchor prints and also the new silhouettes, that take a more sophisticated and grown-up approach.

Italian eyewear brand SUPER gets together with the Cool Cats gang from Paris, run by Pedro Winter of Ed Banger Records, Ed Banger art director and artist So Me and Michael Dupouy from LaMJC.

Taking the design cue from the Cool Cats logo, the concept is to bring the cat’s (logo) sunglasses to life. SUPER worked with the Cool Cats design team led by So Me. The result is a hand-customized carnation of the much-loved W silhouette, the linear ‘retro-futuristic’ member of the SUPER family. The shades were meticulously hand-crafted, reproducing a life-size Cool Cats logo, achieved by skillfully inserting the silver stripe by hand one-by-one, thanks to the cooperation of the experts at Carl Zeiss. The arms feature delicate silver inscriptions and the Cool Cats logo is displayed on the outer arms, winking in the sunlight.

They come in shiny black and matte black and are available from SUPER and Cool Cats.

Together with up and coming artist Ana Kras, Italian eyewear brand SUPER presents the ‘Palmas’ Collection. A series of their classic silhouettes comes with the palmtree print on the inside of the frame.

“A streamlined version of the classic favorites pick up a concept we had introduced in the past with our collaborations: hand-designed prints. The fantastic tone-on-tone retro palm-tree print, designed in collaboration with up-and-coming artist Ana Kras, is reminiscent of retro textiles and Club Tropicana wallpaper.

The print is mounted on cream interior, set against a shiny tortoise exterior, and is available in a selection of our evergreen silhouettes. A covetable and collectible for the SUPER aficionados.”

This season SUPER introduces their new 49er sunglasses, inspired by the iconic Explorer frame. “With a slight “Retro” feel, the resistant, metal, skeleton is partially enveloped in acetate. The classic design adapts to every need representing function in form as well as being equally iconic and transversal.

Available in total black for the design savant, or in a selection of havana tortoise with deep glass green colored lenses for that touch of Panama, characterized through the whole of collection.”

From the new Super Panama Collection we present the Paloma silhouette. Coming with a round shape, which is still rare in the Super collection, they offer the style in three colorways. The sunglasses have released today online and also at some select stores around the globe.

Following their Panama frames, SUPER unveils another new frame for the season, the America. “This model invokes a particular Americana: jukeboxes, Cadillac and Johnny Cash, seen through the lens of a 90’s Wrigley’s commercial. A solid silhouette with sturdy arms, with a clean rectangular shape, the América is available in dark havana acetate for a dramatic impact, or in light caramel-colored havana with contrasting green lenses for modern, light-hearted updating of a cult classic.”

The new Panama silhouette from SUPER sets the basis and standards for their full Autumn/Winter 2011 collection of sunglasses. “A result of much research, the metal and acetate are the perfect synthesis of the Super aesthetic for Autumn 2011: unique, recognizable, eternal.
