Swatch presents two new interesting collaborations on their most iconic plastic watch. They worked with famed fashion photographer Rankin and with Japanese artist Hiroyuki Matsuura.

The British photographer chose an iris photo for his watch, which comes in three colorways. Matsuura only turned artist in 2005, after having worked as a graphic designer before. Today he works with several mediums, and chose to use two of his manga characters on the watches. All 5 watches are now available from colette (storeguide).

Swiss watch maker Swatch has unveiled a new line of Zebra print watches. Overall the collection includes five Gent Original models with black and white print silicone straps and your choice of Pink, Yellow, Orange, Blue or Green fluorescent dials and transparent coloured cases. Available at retail for $65 at all Swatch Boutiques and independent Swatch retailers.

When it comes to these kinds of projects nobody can mess with Parisian concept store colette. Just a couple of weeks ago Nike presented its new French Away Team Kit, paying homage to the iconic white/navy striped pattern, made famous as well by designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier. I think we can all agree that the jersey came out very nice.

With The Away Project, colette is celebrating the Away Kit by bringing on collaborators from all sorts of areas, presenting their product also with the “mariniere” striped pattern. Included in the line-up of collaborations is a watch with Swatch, pen with Montblanc, perfume with Comme des Garcons, bag with Longchamp and Chanel, scarf with Hermes, macarons with Laduree, cosmetics with YSL and more.

colette will setup a fully striped corner on their 1st floor on March 28th and the project runs until April 9th.

Next to his popular adidas Originals collaboration, it looks like Jeremy Scott will soon be releasing a small collection of watches with Swiss brand Swatch. The Jeremy Scott Watch Pack consists of a wings model, a lightning flash style and an arty frame model as well. An exact release date has not been announced yet, but we will of course keep you posted.

Swatch is releasing a new, super-sized version of their original classic Gent watch. The debut release comprises a number of toned down colors with simple styling – the tone on tone black and white being our favorites. A nice alternative to that brand that rhymes with Shmee-Shmock. Now on pre-order for a September 20, 2010 launch at colette.

Swatch has always worked closely with the arts and one might even say that the success of the brand comes from this close partnership. For 2010 they got together with three designers to create a special artist series of watches. The line-up includes Gary Card, David Benedek and the all too familiar Carrie Munden from Cassette Playa. The watches are exclusively available at colette until February 15th.
