While in Austin, TX for SXSW we caught up with Yelawolf. Here he explains his experiences between this year’s Fader Fort performance and last year’s, as well as how he began to develop his style of rhyming.

Shot at last nigh’s “Texas Takeover” Fools Gold showcase, Pro-Keds presents The Cool Kids rocking with Travis Barker of Blink 182 fame and DJ A-Trak of Fools Gold Records. The song is called “JumpDown” and is from Travis’ forthcoming Interscope records project. “The show was great the audio a little rough but it works.” Stay tuned for more from Pro Keds at SXSW.

Rocksmith presents their most refined collection to date with their new Spring 2010 “Above & Beyond” line. The lookbook features musicians, artists and radio hosts that are close to the brand, with many of them performing at the upcoming SXSW in Austin, Texas. Rocksmith will be launching a pop-up store at Sole Fresco in Austin, where they will debut their new Spring collection from March 19th.

On March 17, 8PM-1AM, Converse is presenting the Stones Throw event 45 Live, with Madlib, Wolf, J.Rocc, Dam-Funk, 14KT and Amir playing all 45s. They have teamed up with Wax Poetics for the event and also they will be giving away limited edition copies of the Mayer Hawthorne/James Pants split-45 where they are covering each other’s tracks “Thin Moon” and “Green Eyed Love”.

The SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX has become one of the more influential music gatherings for the discovery of new talent and breakthrough acts. The Music branch of the festival is running this week, and with Fairtilizer, we’re proud to bring you a playlist by SXSW’s hip-hop booking agent, Matt Sonzala, as well as an exclusive interview. Above you can listen to his personal playlist that he created for us.

We talked about SXSW this year, his job for the festival, and took a general outlook at the music industry.

Just in time for SXSW, Supra teamed up with Spin Magazine and Stubb’s Bar-B-Q on the “Stubb’s” Skytop SXSW Edition.

“The Skytop takes its name from the one of the best places to eat and see live music when you are in Austin, and takes its looks from their world famous sauce. To coincide with this release, we have created a special edition to only be sold at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q this Friday in Austin, Texas.

This special edition includes a pair of Stubb’s Skytops, an apron, a bottle of Stubb’s sauce, all inside a hand made wooden box. This box, as well as the apron are both branded with a 2009 SXSW seal. There will be ONLY 50 boxes for sale this Friday from 10am-11am. Each box is also hand numbered.”
