Here it finally is. We have heard about this for a while and now we can finally show you pictures of the Takashi Murakami x Pharrell Williams x Jacob sculpture, which was made for the Art Basel fair this year. Murakami created a sculpture and Jacob the jeweler re-created some of Pharrell’s products of choice in premium metals and diamonds. The blinged out objects, including a Pepsi can, Ice Cream Sneakers, Cupcake, Doritos and a condom, have been placed in the mouth of the Takashi Murakami sculpture.

The sculpture is being exhibited from today at the booth of Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin at Art Basel.

Louis Vuitton will soon be releasing a book, giving you a detailed look into the various collaborative projects that the brand has been involved in. Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion And Architecture will also come in limited edition Takashi Murakami version.

“Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture offers, for the first time in the luxury brand’s history, a critical selection of the creative exchanges forged between Louis Vuitton and a growing number of designers from the worlds of art, architecture, design, photography and fashion. This richly illustrated anthology is supplemented by critical essays that analyse and shed new light on Louis Vuitton’s commitment during one of the most fertile periods of contemporary creation. Written by international critics from the world of art, fashion and architecture, this work, stretching over 400 pages and illustrated with 400 colour documents, will be released in three languages – French, English and Italian – and will be available in bookshops, published respectively by de La Martinière, Rizzoli NY and Rizzoli Italia.

A deluxe edition exclusively designed for Louis Vuitton by Takashi Murakami will be for sale in Louis Vuitton stores and on www.louisvuitton.com from September 1st 2009.”

The other day we showed you the Takashi Murakami t-shirt that was released at the Vogue Nippon x Comme des Garcons “Magazine Alive” store in Tokyo. Here now a look at the “Magical Priness” poster that was also produced for the occasion. The poster comes in an edition of 300 and is signed, as well as numbered. Our guess is, that it is already sold out, so you might want to start checking eBay. Via Number 3.

Sorry for the continued posts about this subject, here comes the last one (hoepfully) for the day. We still thought that you might be interested in this one. Takashi Murakami has designed part of the Vogue Nippon x Comme des Garcons pop-up store and one of his characters also made it onto this t-shirt, created to celebrate the opening of the “Magazine Alive” store. The t-shirt can be ordered from Vogue Nippon.

Five years in the making, Takashi Murakami will reveal “The Emergence of God at the Reversal of Fate” large scale piece officially in Venice on June 6th. Thanks to Pharrell we are getting an early preview. The size is certainly impressive and hopefully we can soon get a proper look at it.

Art Hong Kong 2010 International Art Fair once again managed to bring together some of the most outstanding artists from around the globe. Overall 110 galleries participated in the art fair and they brought together high profile artists such as Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol and Takashi Murakami, along with impressive newcomers. The works certainly speak for themselves.

Japanese artist Takashi Murakami will once again be exhibiting his works in Paris. From 12th of September his new exhibition at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin opens its doors and runs until October 2009. You still have some time to plan your trip out there.

Following up on our previous post about the new Takashi Murakami in-store decoration for Louis Vuitton and the new Multicolor Spring Pallet, the artist also produced a great little animation movie – Superflat First Love.
