Too Black Guys presents their new Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. As usual the brand takes a bit of a different route than others in the market and so they have produced a little video lookbook for the new season, entitled “Not For Sale”. Check it out.

Too Black Guys presents Jim Crow Couture Summer 08. This photo shoot features TBG’s summer 08 collection on some of Hip Hop’s most promising up and coming talents, Pacific Division, Diz Gibran, and new artist TiRon.  With the continuance of the Jim Crow collection the line continues to push the boundaries of conceptual design, style, and social commentary. Too Black Guys still regards itself as a Hip Hop brand that remains at the forefront of fashion design.
The new collection is now available at Union LA, Union NYC, Digital Gravel, Burn Rubber Detroit, Imperious Rex, Goliath and other premium retailers.

TBG presents this trailer for their fall 2007 collection entitled CHURCH! PIMPS IN THE PULPIT.

It visually demonstrates some of the overlapping similarities between organized religion and the pimp game as well as taking a candid look at the exploitation of religion for fame and fortune.

The music and monologue are provided by Drake who is one of the most talented new artists to come out of Canada! You can check for him on his mixed tape titled “comeback season” which should be hitting the streets any day now.

The CHURCH! collection will be in stores this week at Ransom in Toronto, Union NY and the Reed Space, GreyOne in Pasadena and online at Digital Gravel.

This season TBG’s fall concept CHURCH: Pimps in the Pulpit takes a candid look at the exploitation of religion for monetary gain in our culture. As always we artfully balance comedy, commentary, and of course the flyest fashion. TBG is continuing to take innovative fashion and quality to another level!
Usually we would not go into so much detail for each piece of the collection, but TBG is one of those brands that truly captures and impresses you if you understand the message behind the piece and all the little details added to each garment.
-Corduroy Varsity- Church logo stitched on back and Holy Grail stitched to the left chest, tri-color waist and cuffs.

-Black Selvege Raw Denim- also coming in blue this season, red leather signature patch on back left pocket, straight leg fit slightly tapered leg opening, church logo print on the inside, monotone stitching on back right pocket.

- Grey Broken Hoody- Off set and contrasting panels, coming in several colors this season, contrasting zipper and draw string, metallic gold embroidery “Pimps in the Pulpit” on front left chest, inside print of the pimps rosary.

- Holy Grail Hoody – Chalice embroidered on the front left chest, inside print of the “pimps prayer” (taken from the “Pimp named Slick Back” episode of the Boondocks), contrasting zipper and draw strings.

- The Mack T – A parody of the the Poster for the infamous “The Mack” movie using the Pope and his loyal sisters.
 
- Praying hands logo T – Church Logo of the praying hands with a large pinky ring and holding a stack of hundreds, contrasting purple right sleeve with the “pimps prayer” printed on it.
