The Ampal Creative Summer 2010

The Ampal Creative gives us a look into their new summer collection, “A Golden State of Mind.” Inspired by classic Southern California summers – long days in the sun, surf trips to Baja, and warm boozy nights at the beach – the collection features hats in materials such as premium Italian Chambray, natural straw, denim and heather corduroy. Each piece includes several subtle details and is hand crafted in Los Angeles with locally sourced materials.

The Ampal Creative presents a behind the scenes look at their “girls that intrigue us” lookbook shoot. “We didn’t want to use models, but instead chose a few of our friends who are also involved in fashion. Mallyce, Michelle and Natalia have all developed their own unique style and also are involved on the ground level of clothes and fashion today. Michelle is the production manager for Pastelle, Ransom, and Diamond Supply Co.’s apparel. Natalia has her own jewelry line, n.om, which is killing it, and Mallyce designs and runs, the high end fashion line LAEKEN.”

The Ampal Creative Fall/Winter 2009 Collection
The Ampal Creative sent over some looks from their Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Describing their product as “distinguished headwear for gentlemen of leisure and the women who intrigue us,” The Ampal Creative presents a dynamic range of headwear silhouettes based on intriguing characters. Whether the subject is the Droog, a distinctive bowler inspired by Alex Delarge of Clockwork Orange, or the Draper, a porkpie cap developed under the influence of Madmen character Donald Draper, each option is a great look for fall. Fabric choices include wools, linens, cotton, and mock animal skin bands. Hats are produced in deadstock fabric houses in Los Angeles, with each style being limited to under 200 pieces. The Ampal Creative can be purchased online at www.80spurple.com, Barracuda in Los Angeles, and Fred Segal in Santa Monica.

More previews from the The Ampal Creative Fall/Winter 2009 Collection collection after the jump.
