WeSC and The Standard present a collaboration that includes the best of the two worlds: the creativity, people and punk mentality of the Superlative Conspiracy together with The Standard’s irreverent and playful sensibility and careful consideration for design.

WeSC and The Standard present capsule accessory collections for each Standard hotel in Miami, Hollywood, Downtown LA and New York. The collection includes items for travel or everyday life: travel wallet, passport holder, wallet, luggage tag, and iPhone case – in colors representative of each hotel’s identity. Also included is a WeSC x The Standard premium retro style headphone.

To celebrate the collaboration between the two brands, WeSC and The Standard proudly present a series of short films created by a group of artists who are an active part of the Superlative Conspiracy and whose creativity represent WeSC and The Standard’s art, travel and music sensibility. Above we have an exclusive look at the Miami video by FriendsWithYou.

The products are now available at The Standard Hotels and select WeSC retailers worldwide.

André Saraiva has collaborated with French brand Saint James on a monogrammed version of their famous 122-year-old striped shirt. Interview reports: “As a little kid, I would go to Brittany to the sea, I would go to the old fishermen stores, and always grab a few Saint James winter sweaters, and the T-shirts,” he says.

The updated ‘Naval II’ shirts will be unveiled at The Standard New York on Bastille Day and feature Andre’s pink “Mr. A.” character on the chest and a red and blue sailor’s hat on the sleeve (representing NY.) A limited edition of the shirts will be sold at The Standard, New York shop and ShoptheStandard.com, as well as Opening Ceremony in New York and Los Angeles, and Colette in Paris.

On February 16th The Standard and Happy Socks are releasing their first collaboration at The Standard Shop in New York City. Together they worked on several socks, featuring the colors of The Standard, along with some other nice summer patterns. They are now available online here and at The Standard Shop. Via Selectism.

OHWOW has partnered with The Standard Spa, Miami Beach to create a new retail store. The shop will carry a selection of curated products such as art books and hotel essentials, as well as hosting a community of artists including: Tim Barber, Scott Campbell, Julia Chiang, Dan Colen, Luis Gispert, KAWS, Terence Koh, Andrew Kuo, Ari Marcopolous, José Parlá, Agathe Snow and Julia Ziegler-Haynes, and others. The highly graphic shop was designed by acclaimed architect Rafael de Cárdenas and is a testament to his style.

“The Standard Hotels group has worked with artists Geoff McFetridge and Chris Johanson on a series of  Pendleton blankets,” as reported by Selectism.  ”Geoff created his blanket for The Standard, Hollywood in black and light blue with initials ‘GM’; Chris created his blanket for The Standard, Downtown LA in heather grey and warm yellow, with the text reading “all people are multi dimensional.” They’re also available for purchase at shopthestandard. 40 blankets have been produced per artist in two sizes.”

As previously reported by Curated, Australian artist Anthony Lister kicks off an installation at The Standard, New York tonight. Here you see all new photos of Anthony’s work at The Standard, including shots of the artist in action painting a site-specific piece on the glass window of the shop. The mini-masks, shields and swords (seen after) will all be on sale at The Standard shop as individual pieces of art (acrylic on wood, $200 signed and numbered by artist).

The Standard Hotel commissioned artist Jose Parla to create a lightweight cashmere/silk scarf. Covered in his signature strokes, the scarf measures 24.5 × 70 and comes in an edition of 100. Order here for a May 3, 2010 ship date.

Most of you should know by now the PK Ripper Fixed Gear Bike by SE Racing, that is the result of numerous collaborations of SE Racing and DC Shoes. Now The Standard hotels also get into the mix and received their very own PK Ripper bikes. Of the 1000 pieces of the PK Ripper, The Standard has customized 20 pieces to give it the New York look. 15 bikes will be at The Standard New York for the guests to use in the city and 5 are being sold through their online store, each priced at 1250 USD.

Quiksilver has partnered with André Balazs’ The Standard Hotels to market cobranded men’s and women’s swimsuits. The boardshorts are a Diamond Dobby reissue of the original design from 70s and 80s with new patterns inspired by the 4 Standard hotels in Hollywood, Downtown LA, Miami, and NY. Each pair of boardshorts has a list of addresses in the waistband, carefully curated by Natas Kaupas (Skateboarding legend and Quiksilver Creative Director) corresponding to 5 unique destinations near each of the hotels. A bikini inspired by one of Quiksilver first designs will also be released. Set to launch on August 8th, the boardshorts and bikini will be distributed via the first-ever poolside vending machines in the hotel’s four properties, in their boutiques and online at shopthestandard.com. Each product is limited to 250 pieces.

An interesting and practical solution for those among us that tend to forget their swimsuits at home. More images follow after the jump.

Three contemporary legends, Jose Parla, Eric Haze and Natas Kaupas from Miami, NYC and LA have created a set of three limited edition T-shirts for The Standard Hotel’s three properties in those cities.

1500 of each design has been produced and are available only through The Standard’s website starting on December 8th. A limited number of t-shirts are also available at each hotel’s on-site store. Each t-shirt includes the artist’s signature next to the label, comes in a red pouch that also carries the artist’s signature and sells for $55. Also each t-shirt comes in black and in white, in both mens and womens sizes.
