The Most Ridiculous Menswear Looks of Fall 2012 00 The Most Ridiculous Menswear Looks of Fall 2012
With the fall 2012 menswear shows having just finished in Europe, it’s not too difficult to round up the most ridiculous looks of the season. We’ve already shown you Thom Browne’s Incredible Hulk madness, but there’s many other equally crazy looks. The “asymmetrical janitor” (by Boris Bidjan Saberi) and “propeller face” (by Walter Van Beirendonck) kits are only the start.

Enjoy more looks after the click, and read full commentary on each at NY Mag.

Thom Browne Fall/Winter 2012 Collection - Runway

Yesterday evening Thom Browne showed his new Fall/Winter 2012 Collection in Paris and as usual the designer managed to surprise people. Located in a beautiful Parisian museum, the designer had punks and jocks walk down the runway. Spikes, spiked masks, oversized tops and bottoms with massive shoulders and knee parts were walking down the runway and left the audience shocked and amused.

Check it out for yourself to get an idea.

Thom Browne Wingtip Brogue 'Tricolor' Shoes

From the new Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2012 Collection, we present their all new Wingtip Brogue shoe. Aside from the usual high quality uppers and heel pull tag, the most exciting addition is without any doubt the tricolor branding to the mid- and outer-soles of the shoe. An all around signature design by the New York designer.

The Thom Browne Wingtip Brogue ‘Tricolor’ is now in stock at Soto Berlin.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

Moncler Gamme Bleu Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

On the runway this weekend, Thom Browne presented his new Moncler Gamme Bleu Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. This season the designer was inspired by the Formula 1, having models walk in racing suits down the runway. Strong red and yellow were his accent colors, aside from the usual heavy use of tricolor.

We especially like the check pattern fabrics and dark navy coats of the collection, which seem special enough, yet wearable at the same time. The collection turned out great once again, resulting in an elegant winter offering for next season.

Check out the full collection after the jump.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Wool Outerwear Fall/Winter 2011

Moncler Gamme Bleu Wool Outerwear Fall/Winter 2011

What we like the most about the Moncler Gamme Bleu range designed by Thom Browne, is the use of different materials on the down jackets that the brand used to only release with nylon uppers. The classic wool fabrics used on the upper look great and give the outerwear a real premium touch.

For Fall/Winter 2011, Thom Browne and Moncler present a Houndstooth hooded down jacket, a wool Peacoat and a Check Down jacket. The peacoat fuses several iconic styles in one, making it the most interesting out of the three, which are now all available from restir.

Take a look at the other two jackets after the jump.

Thom Browne Varsity Jacket Fall/Winter 2011

Better known for his excellent oxford shirts and suits, we do appreciate the more sporty pieces in the Thom Browne collection. For Fall/Winter 2011 the designer presents a new varsity jacket, as reported by Selectism. It comes in a burgundy wool/grey leather version and the color combination is simply beautiful. Furthermore it comes with two front pockets, signature tricolor tag on the back and a quilted lining. Bergdorf has it in stock now for 1295 USD.

Thom Browne Fall/Winter 2011 iPad Case

Thom Browne Fall/Winter 2011 iPad Case

We previewed the case a while ago and for Fall/Winter 2011, it has finally released. In true Thom Browne style, the New York designer presents an iPad case styled after a classic men’s briefcase.

“Crafted from premium calf leather, the case has the appearance of a satchel from the outside, complete with a lockable latch and carry handle.

Opening the latch reveals an inside sections with a number of handy compartments for cards, papers and other essentials. The iPad itself occupies one side of the case and is held in place securely by a leather end piece and a signature Thom Brown grosgrain tricolour strap.”

The case is beautiful, yet we do not suggest carrying it by the carry handle – that might look at little ridiculous.

Oki-Ni has the iPad case in stock now.

VMAN Editorial – Tribes of Autumn

VMAN Editorial - Tribes of Autumn

VMAN has produced a fantastic new photo spread, entitled ‘Tribes of Autumn’. Featured are  the following brands: rag & bone, Dries van Noten, Raf Simons, Neil Barrett, Kris Van Assche, Dsquared2, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Thom Browne, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Burberry Prorsum, Jil Sander, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, Gucci, D&G and Dior Homme.

Rather than mixing the brands, the magazine chose to do one shot per brand, featuring several complete outfits of the brand from the coming Fall/Winter 2011 season. We really like that each brand was given proper space and that each brand’s clothing was highlighted in the respective mood of the coming collection. The outcome is a series of images that give a great round-up of what you will be seeing in stores in the coming months.

Check out the full ‘Tribes of Autumn’ editorial spread after the jump.
