Kazuki Kuraishi has established himself as a genuine force in design and creativity. Having worked with adidas on numerous great footwear and apparel offerings, as well the CASH CA brand, Kazuki now tries his hand at retail. His concept store, Heather Grey Wall, is set to open up this weekend in Tokyo and I am sure it will be a welcomed addition to the rich retail landscape of the city. We recently created a shopping guide to the city, so if you missed it, check it out here and make a mental note to add Heather Grey Wall to that mix. (Source: Unbar.)

Tokyo Shopping Excursion – Aoyama

tokyo aoyama 0 Tokyo Shopping Excursion – Aoyama

We continue our Tokyo tour. After having visited Shibuya and Harajuku earlier this week, we made the move to Aoyama. The good thing is, that all three of these shopping areas are very close to each other. From Harajuku to Aoyama it is not even worth taking the subway, you just walk over.

Once you start getting into the better shopping streets of Aoyama, you realize quickly that compared to Harajuku, things are a little more settled here. Lots of Japanese and international high fashion designers set up there shops here, including Issey Miyake, Comme des Garcons, Rick Owens, Neil Barrett, Miu Miu, Prada and many others.

Many of those brands you of course find in the US and Europe as well, therefore we tried to stick to the more unique outlets, either in terms of product offering or because of the store design.

Check out our in-depth Aoyama visit after the jump.

tokyo harajuku highsnobiety tour Tokyo Shopping Excursion – Harajuku

Yesterday we reported about our Shibuya visit. Right next to Shibuya you find Harajuku and whatever you have seen in terms of shopping before, you can simply forget when having wondered through the small and narrow streets of the district. One shop stacks up on top of the other, with at least 3 stores placed one on top of each other in each building of the entire shopping area. You simply do not know where to look anymore and where not. Missing one little corner, might mean missing several dope stores.

What that means is, that you have to be selective. We might have to come back to Harajuku later on, but for now we can present some of the stores we visited during the day and we were definitely not disappointed.

Head on after the jump to take a look at the complete listing and review.

Tokyo Shopping Excursion – Shibuya

tokyo shibuya shopping excursions Tokyo Shopping Excursion Shibuya

Today we arrived in Tokyo and started with a more extensive stroll through the Shibuya shopping area. Being the world’s most dense shopping area, you have to be prepared to work your way through the streets. Addresses are not very easy to find, but with some asking around and a map you will find most of your stores eventually.

As usual, the stores that you most look forward to see might not strike you as that amazing in reality and others that you just wanted to quickly pass by, you end up being stuck for an hour. Shibuya is only one of many other shopping districts, and while we sure missed a lot, we give you here a little report on what we did see and can recommend. Overall there is no doubt, Tokyo is a retail mecca that is hard to beat.

Check out the full review after the jump.

Pass The Baton Omotesando - Opening Recap

Yesterday we gave you a preview of the Nigolden Pop-Up Store at the new Pass The Baton Omotesando store. The store just officially opened and so we can give you a nice detailed opening recap today.

“PASS THE BATON is a contemporary select recycle shop.

Our concept is “New Recycle”, our products items gathered from private individuals-objects with memories, items in disuse, but can´t be thrown away. They are sold, along with their stories to someone who understands their use and value.

Not a recycle shop as you´ve seen before, that carries only either brand name or low price items, we are a new recycle shop that handles items portraying an individual tastes and sensibility, items passed down from their original owners.”

The concept is fantastic and of course they also managed to line up some great product. Nigo from Bape brought along some of his favorite personal items, of course also including A Bathing Ape product, such as table ware and more.

Take a closer look at the new Pass The Baton store after the jump.
