We present you some impressive custom Vans Slip-Ons and Eras by Japanese artist Toshihiro Egawa. The Japanese artist is a self-studied artist who has been specialising in computer graphics. He became better known outside of Japan also due to his work on jackets for various bands. These Vans sneakers were created for the  “Dia De Los Muertos vol.0" show at PingMag.

10CorsoComo was initially created by Carla Sozzani in Milan and still stands strong today. After Milan they opened the 10CorsoComo x Comme Des Garcons store in Tokyo and just a couple of months ago the 3rd location, Seoul.
The Tokyo store is celebrating its 6th anniversary and of course they made some special product for the occasion. Once again they joined forces with Medicom to create a new version of their 400% Bearbrick and they also made matching tote bags. Via Secretbase.

After releasing last week the Undefeated "Regional Strike" Los Angeles T-Shirt at the LA store, Undefeated Tokyo is now getting ready to release their version of the t-shirt.
This coming Saturday, May 24th, they will be releasing both the Tokyo t-shirt and the Worldwide t-shirt, each coming in two colorways. The Tokyo t-shirt will be exclusive to the Tokyo store and the Worldwide t-shirt will be an exclusive to the online store.

In Tokyo Terry Richardson is at the moment exhibiting his Jackass series, showing the members of the Jackass crew in some of their glorious moments. The exhibition is taking place at the LaForet Museum, in the heart of Harajuku. Of course there are also limited edition products being released, something we got used to in recent years. For this particular exhibition they released 200 photo print t-shirts, 100 photo books and 100 box sets including an instant camera and a pair of Terry’s signature sunglasses.

The best US retail spots continue to be exported to Japan. We saw it happening since years with Supreme and Stussy and in recent years Undefeated, FTC, Flightclub and others also made the move to Tokyo. Now it was the time for Alife to open their first location there. After New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver, this marks the opening of the 4th Alife flagship store.
The new Alife Tokyo Flagship store is now open. In terms of interior design they took a different approach from their other stores and created a sleek interior made up of black colors and wooden floors.

Nike Dunk Japanese City Pack – Tokyo/Fukoaka/Nagoya/Osaka

Here is an interesting new pack coming from Nike Japan. It consists of overall 4 Dunks, each referring to a landmark feature of the city they represent, using colours and materials, as well as custom inner soles.
The line-up includes the Fukuaka Dunk Low paying tribute to the ancient Yamakasa festival, the gold Nagoya Dunk which stands for the dolphin that represents the city, the striped Osaka Dunk Hi representing Doutonbori (a drumming doll) and the hairy Tokyo Dunk, which represents the giant panda also known as Ling-Ling. Have fun trying to remember all the names of these.

Kiks TYO will be opening a pop-up store at the Laforet Hotel in Tokyo, where they will present the work surrounding the Sneaker Lovers project, that they worked on with Aki Hoshino and photographer Yone.
Of course they also release some special product at the store, including a t-shirt and a special colorway of their Aki Hoshino x Medicom Kubrick.
The pop-up store will be open from 21rst of April until 6th of May.

” For the Bape store, after discussions with Nigo, we decided to create a store that felt like a town within a building with an American diner flair. However, for the top floor, a sense of playfulness was added with a colonial style resort inspired space.”

Selectism - H&M to Launch Comme des Garcons Collection
Big announcement on the business wire this morning. “Comme des Garçons’ founder and head designer Rei Kawakubo will create this autumn’s guest designer collection at H&M… Rei Kawakubo, famous and admired for her creativity and artistry, will design a women’s and a men’s collection, with some pieces for children too. Accessories and an exclusive unisex fragrance will also be included in the collection…
The world launch of the collection will be at the opening of H&M’s second store in Tokyo, Japan, in the beginning of November. Launch date for other H&M markets will be a few days later.”
H&M’s team-up with designer, Rei Kawakubo, is a major step for H&M in the Japanese market and the Harajuku specifically, which is beginning to see an influx of big retail establishments moving into grounds once held by smaller, niche labels. Via Selectism.
