Australia’s collaborative sunglass label COLAB has released new models from their Summer 2009 collection. They worked with Tonite from the UK and with artist Genevieve Gauckler on these latest designs, which are now available at colette.

After last years shut-down notice of Tonite, we were a little surprised to see a new Spring/Summer 2009 Collection in stores these days. Let’s hope it is not the last one. As usual Tonite proposes a handful of strong graphic t-shirts. The t-shirts are now available at Oki-Ni.

After previously presenting you already two pairs of Tonite x Colab sunglasses, we present you here now the 3rd pair – “Eyebones”. Coming in matt black and bone, the most impressive features of this model are the sculpted bones as the arms. Both colorways are limited to 1000 pieces worldwide and will soon be available in stores.

Recently we have previewed the Tonite Fall/Winter 2008 "Traveling" collection, as well as their new collaboration on sunglasses with Australia’s Colab.
As part of the Fall/Winter 2008 collection they will also be releasing a cushion, featuring artwork by Tonite’s creative director Fergadelic. 
Yet another piece to be looking out for!

UK label Tonite worked with Australia’s CoLab on a series of overall 3 sunglasses, of which two have been released today. The two models come in black and feature trademark Tonite graphics that have been added to the frame.
Along with your sunglasses you also received a recycled cardboard tube with Tonite signature packing tape and color coded lid, an A2 Colab/Tonite Poster, a Calico string tie sunglass cover and a microfibre lens cleaning cloth designed by Tonite.

Tonite has released  the "New Album" a free podcast that you can download as of today. Mixed with Fergadelics favourite Krautrock vinyls, mixed and edited by the mighty Riton from Die Verboten, here’s a Mix to celebrate the release of his excellent Eine Kleine Nacht Musik L.P. It’s all Vinyl, all German Label and now available here.

The comeback of Tonite was good news this Spring/Summer season. Now the label has also launched their website. The site includes a season preview, blog, stockist list and more.

Seeing Tonite back on the map has been very exciting this year and aside from a strong new collection this season, they also seem to make big moves on other levels. The UK label has been asked by Paul Smith to design a collection for their Japanese store.
This work was a special request from Paul Smith to design a capsule collection for their Japan stores. It will also be making it’s way to London with a very limited appearance at the P.S. Borough store. This is the very first preview. It is heading into stores now.
The name of this collection is “Robinstein Frankencrusoe” and as that suggests, it’s about a combination of the attributes of those two (Robinson Crusoe & Frankenstein) mythical figures. Frankenstein, alienated by a hostile, war-like society, escapes and takes to the Sea, pursuing the Sun and the promise of a better life. However, he is ship wrecked and washed ashore on a small tropical island, where he is discovered by it’s only resident, Robinson Crusoe. They form a friendship and an alliance and the clothes reflect their collective ideas about survival.

There are elements of surf-style and punk in the clothes, which are part of Fergadelic’s ongoing attempts to meld the Punk with the Hippy!
It is great seeing such unexpected collaborations, with such an incredible turn-out. At the same time we have to give it to Paul Smith, a high fashion designer, who clearly understands and appreciates the talent and skills of Tonite and Fergadelic.
The collection is now hitting stores in Japan and London. If you are lucky you can get your hands onto one of these classics. This is certainly one of those pieces that you buy and look back at in 10-20 years.

Later this year Tonite will be releasing their womens collection. The collection gets its inspiration from travelling. It is an attempt to bring the beach to the city. To share the freedom, whether under the tropical rain of the beach, or the winter skies of the city.
Have a look at the collection and make a mental note, so that you do not forget about it by the time it drops. As usual from Tonite, it is something special and different from everything else out there. Also their website is launching soon.

Fergadelic is back with Tonite. Spring/Summer 2008 is one of the strongest collections since Tonite’s early Silas associated days. With Silas firmly rooted in Japan, it’s left to Mr Fergus to get the UK streetwear market excited once again and put Britain back on the map! Remaining true to it’s gritty London roots, the new range it an eclectic mix of it’s creators psychadelic mind. Punk vs Hippy’s vs Comic’s vs Pop Art vs Humour vs Angst. All living in harmony! Subtle nods to some of the most influential artists/graphics of the Tonite generation – Pettibon, Warhol, and Robert Crumb are all evident.
Beach Towels and Giant Rock Hands at the ready for Woodstock! Hardcore Cycling caps pay homage to Suicidal T’s  skate graphics. Kick ass womens tees are all there and the mixtape is on its way.
