Trainerspotter x Puma “Number 5″ Bicycle

Trainerspotter x Puma Fixed Gear Bicycle

To celebrate the launch of the Trainerspotter x Puma SkyHi II for Size?, Puma and Trainerspotter have collaborated on a 1 off signature bike. With a grey pastel finish and flashes of pink and mint on the rims and tires, the bicycle’s color combination has been colored with a nod to the collaboration sneaker which took reference from Trainerspotter’s aesthetic influence, the cult 80’s TV series ‘Miami Vice’. “Constructed from Alloy and designed geometrically holding the body forward in a leaning aggressive position for urban pursuit the bike is the perfect match for Crockett’s taste in cars, his preferred choices being a Ferrari365 GTS/4 Daytona and a Ferrari Testarossa.”

Size? x Trainerspotter x Puma Sky Hi II - A Detailed Look

After a first preview the other day, we can give you a more detailed look at the collaboration between Puma, Trainerspotter and Size, celebrating the retailers 10th anniversary.

“The original ethos for Trainerspotter was drawn from the stories of sports history and the aesthetic of the TV show MIAMI VICE. Michael Mann was given complete creative control over the show and enforced a ban on primary colours, limiting the colour palette for each episode to pastel tones with the exception of the neons seen at night. These colours became the show’s signature, no detail was gratuitous, the clothes, colours, cars, architecture all expressed the milieu through which the characters were moving. We have always emulated this vision by restricting our palette in the same way and these colours have now become our signature.

As an original early 1980’s high top, the Sky High II is perfectly suited to be rendered in 3 pastel tones straight out of Crocketts wardrobe – grey, mint and pink.”

Many more detailed images of the sneakers follow after the jump.

Trainerspotter for Liberty Spring/Summer 2010

Trainerspotter for Liberty Spring/Summer 2010

In 2003 Trainerspotter reinvented the iconic 1980’s Windjammer jacket with a literal interpretation of sport meets fashion. By taking the silhouette of a staple piece of sportswear and then (de) constructing it by juxtaposing the lightweight waterproof nylon against floral Liberty print fabric they created a true sports fashion garment.

The jackets were an immediate success in the UK and Japan, with a high demand they sold out quickly and were repeated in small limited runs over the season.

For spring summer 2010 Trainerspotter have been asked to revisit this project by Liberty of London and produce 3 new Trainerspotter x Liberty Jammers.

The result is three luxe versions of the 2003 originals. Made in England from floral Liberty prints with British Millerain wax cotton, Nickel Swiss RiRi zippers, Worsted Wool rib cuffs and cotton cambric lining, each style of limited numbered editions and can be found exclusively at Liberty of London.

TS x Pendleton Mills Hooded Workshirt and Trapper hats

For more than 140 years, Pendleton Woolen Mills have been weaving world class woolens in their Northeastern Oregon Mills. In 1898 the family resumed the production of Indian blankets and introduced new designs, colors, and patterns to their product line. Pendleton then expanded their trade from the local Nez Perce Indians to the Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni peoples of the American Southwest. Trainerspotter continues Pendleton’s proud heritage with two garments influenced by the American Northwest – their staple 30’s style Trapper hat and the new Broken Twill Overshirt with detachable hood. Both are constructed using premium napped Nez Perce, Zapotec and Chief Joseph pattern Pendleton wool and RiRi zips. Exclusive to the No-One store in Shorditch, London.

Trainerspotter AutumnWinter 2009 Footwear
Autumn/Winter 2009 sees the launch of Trainerspotter’s first series of footwear. The debut release consists of two styles, both influenced by the 1980’s. The palm tree logo gets ample play time, over one style inspired by Miami Vice and another borrowing looks from their favourite sneaker of that era. Nothing we haven’t seen before, but definitely something to look forward to for fans of the brand.

Trainerspotter has just launched a collaborative project with Scottish boutique Attic. Three work shirts were produced, one in collaboration with each one of the brothers who own the store. The shirts are called “The Watchmen”, “The Plum” and “Brightlines”.

‘The Watchmen’ shirt is a nod to Scotland’s Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Infantry Regiment. ‘The Plum’ speaks for it self with it’s plum colours within the Tartan and the details. ‘Brightlines’ is a plaid of dark rich maroons mixed with navy squares and bright lines of lemon and lime cutting through them. All 3 shirts include 100% leather tipping to the right breast pocket. They are a mid weight cotton and perfect upper wear for trekking the Highlands. There are 12 of each style available and from Attic only.
