South Park 15th Anniversary Art Exhibition curated by Ron English

This last week the South Park 15th Anniversary Art Exhibition at Opera Gallery New York, curated by Ron English, opened its doors. Ron English managed to get together quite an impressive list of artists, who have created works for this show specifically. Works by Travis Louie, Colin Christian, Sas Christian, Beau Stanton, Kid Zoom, Dave White, KaNo, Kathie Olivas, Clark Fox, Greg Craola Simkins, Mark Dean Veca, Lindsey Way, Naoto Hattori and Tristan Eaton are part of the show, of course next to English’s own work.

On Thursday night the Billy Bananas Show opens its doors at Jonathan Levine Gallery. The artist does not only present new paintings and prints, he will also release his new toy – Billy Bananas.

The 5 toys are all limited to 150 pieces or less and are accompanied by a colorful series of paintings on metal and hand weathered prints depicting the back story of Billy Bananas, the ultimate ‘Anti-Mickey Mouse’. The most exciting of all, is the debut of the 3 foot, resin Billy Bananas sculpture and a rare video installation by animation experts Interspectacular. One toy comes as a Clutter Magazine exclusive and another one as a Thunderdog Studios exclusive.

Make sure to pass by the opening on Thursday and now check out the toys in more detail after the jump.
