Japanese brand Undercover has recently opened their new Kanazawa flagship store. Once again the brand impresses with a very unique take on interior design, placing a massive light installation on the ceiling and also making use of the backyard of the store. The audio equipment in the store is another highlight not to be missed.

We’ve already seen several high-profile Japanese designers tackle the mundane for Isetan’s Art Convenience Store (fragment pens, Mastermind umbrellas), but this one takes the cake for most unusual. Jun Takahashi of Undercover worked with Ginbis on a collaborative box of Animal Crackers. The packaging portrays the different animals in a realistic setting, while each cracker is branded with the animal’s name. Interestingly enough, Ginbis prints their biscuits in English, giving the Japanese a head start on vague animal shape naming. Now available at Cliffedge.

We take a look at some more product from the Undercover Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. In the accessories department the Japanese brand presents a really nice large size backpack, as well as some leather/wool gloves and a winter boot with several velcro straps. Furthermore we like a lot the down vest and down jacket of the season, both featuring an interesting material mix and great details on the upper. The product is now available from The Corner.

When it comes to biker jackets you have the classic brands that have been in the game for decades and then you have the newer ones that take their inspiration from the classics and add their own bit to it. Undercover has always produced some of the more interesting ones in our mind. Here you see their latest leather biker jackets for Fall/Winter 2009. The interesting application of zippers all-over jumps right into the eye. The jacket comes in black and in grey and is now available through Cliff Edge.

As part of their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection, Undercover worked with Cire Trudon, candle makers since 1643. The line-up of candles includes several colorways, each also featuring one of the Grace characters, created by Jun Takahashi.

After some initial construction images of the new Nowhere Hong Kong store, the opening date and brand line-up has been announced. The store will carry Undercover, 40% Against Rights, Affa and of course Last Orgy 2, the brand by Nigo from A Bathing Ape and Jun Takahashi from Undercover. The store will open its doors on September 26th.

A very interesting new biker jacket has released from the Undercover Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. Inspired by the Maya culture, similar to a messenger bag series last year, the jacket comes with very nice sleeve details. The jacket is now available from Note.

After several nice previews this week of the upcoming Original Fake x Undercover Bear Kaws Companion toy, the figure has now also been officially announced. As mentioned before, the toy will be released in Tokyo on August 29th.

After giving you a first look at the upcoming collaborative vinyl toy between Undercover and Original Fake, we can show you some more images of the two colorways of the toy today. Jun Takahashi’s Undercover Bear and Kaws’ Companion come together in this one. They present the toy in a black and an off-white colorway, with the bear holding the smaller Companion. The toy will be released on August 29th at Undercover stores and at Original Fake Tokyo.
