Following the uniqlo undercover UU lookbook, we can now give you a closer look at the products from the line. From Selectism – “March 16, 2012 sees the delivery of the first collaborative collection from UNIQLO and Undercover, two very well known Japanese labels that come together for a family style affair, as seen in their lookbook. We take a look at the individual garments in the collection that vary from styles leather jackets, plaid shirts, to straight leg casual trousers. This is a very different collection from the previous UNIQLO work with +J. From Undercover’s side, this collection is simply nothing like their work with Nike on Gyakusou.”

uniqlo undercover Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

After the initial announcement we can finally give you a first look at the upcoming collaboration between Undercover and Uniqlo. Together the two Japanese brands have worked on a Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Coming to stores on March 16th, 2012, Jun Takahashi of Undercover has worked on both mens and womens collections as part of the collaboration, offering his signature style and colors, yet all much more affordable than we are used to see from the designer.

Uniqlo Innovation Project Spring 2012 Collection

Uniqlo continues with their Innovation Project Collection for Spring 2012. The collaboration between Nicola Formichetti, Uniqlo Creative Director Kashiwa Sato and design director Naoki Takizawa once again concentrates on ultra-functional and weatherproof wear at affordable prices.

The Spring 2012 Collection consists of track jackets, parkas, hooded jackets, pants, hoodies and more. The line is releasing at stores now.

MoMA x UT ‘Message Art Now!’ T-Shirt Collection

In an interesting new collaboration, Uniqlo’s t-shirt line UT has teamed up with MoMA for Holiday 2011.

Artists represented in the MoMA x UT – Message Art Now! Line, a collaboration between The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and UT, were selected by Klaus Biesenbach, Director of MoMA PS1 and Chief Curator at Large at MoMA. These artists are among the most innovating within their disciplines and most dynamic in diverse works addressing a range of issues important to the global community.

The outcome is a great graphic t-shirt collection for both men and women, now available online here.

A Look Inside UNIQLO’s New Global Flagship on Fifth Ave., NYC

This coming Friday, Japanese fast fashion chain Uniqlo will be opening its largest global flagship store to date on 5th Avenue in New York City. Thanks to Selectism we can give you a detailed look inside the impressive new mega store.

“Designed by Wonderwall (you know the name), the new UNIQLO shop will be the largest single retailer on Fifth Ave. with more than 89,000 square feet of retail space across three floors. Those familiar with the UNIQLO SOHO location and the congestion that fills it during the busy weekend, will want to explore the new Fifth Ave location. The retail space is open and wide for shopping and browsing. More than 200 LCD and LED screens throughout the new store will deliver UNIQLO styled looks and more.

The UNIQLO Fifth Ave. opening has been blitzed hard in the media for months now and Friday will be a exceptional day for the retailer. Those looking for store opening specials will be pleased to hear that their basic v-neck cashmere sweater will sell for $50 (down from the normal $99) and Japanese denim lovers will want to be quick to lock in a pair of slim or straight denim for $9.99. That’s right: $9.99.”

Largest store on 5th Avenue? Denim for 9.99 USD for the opening? I think those are enough reasons to pass by this coming Friday.

Tokyo Shopping Excursion – From Shibuya To Harajuku

While we have already presented guides for Shibuya and Harajuku, there is a lot happening in between the two areas, which we explore in the next chapter of our Tokyo shopping guide.

You can easily walk from Shibuya to Harajuku, as the two are connected and only one train stop away from each other. Some places are easier to find than others, but there are so many great shopping areas in the city to explore and we would not want to miss a single one of them.

Check out our store checks that we did on the edges of the two shopping districts, featuring some retailers that you have already heard about many times here on Highsnobiety.

Uniqlo +J Fall/Winter 2011 Collection

Today we can present you a more detailed look of the Uniqlo +J Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, the last collection from the collaboration between the Japanese retailer and designer Jil Sander.

The line is looking really strong, with especially the outerwear standing out. Colors are as usual mostly muted, but a few color hits have been infused as well this time. The jackets and blazers are our personal favorites. The collection will launch at select Uniqlo stores around the globe on September 7th, 2011.

Undercover x Uniqlo Project Announced

Today Undercover designer Jun Takahashi announces their upcoming project with Uniqlo. It looks like he will be designing a collection for the Japanese clothing giant in the near future. It looks like the project will start this year and go throughout all of 2012. We will of course keep you posted.

With the relationship between Unqlo and Jil Sander coming to an end, this might be a great addition to their portfolio and offering!

Uniqlo Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Uniqlo is about to release their new Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. Today we give you a first look at the styles that you can look forward to from the Japanese retail giant.

For the most part, Uniqlo keeps it very simple, offering as usual solid ranges of cotton pants, knitwear, outerwear and everything else you need to complete your outfit. Some of the more technical outerwear and pants, as well as the fleece is looking especially interesting in the coming season. Of course you will not stand out of the crowd with Uniqlo, but their collection is as usual perfect for all the basics.

Uniqlo Save Japan! Project

In partnership with Condé Nast Japan, Uniqlo is teaming up with A-list designers and celebrities from around the world to design t-shirts to benefit the Japanese Red Cross. Each limited edition shirt will feature words of encouragement specifically chosen by the designer. The high profile roster includes Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Orlando Bloom, Blake Lively, Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Charlize Theron. The shirts will be available on June 25 and retail for $19.90.

Japanese brand Uniqlo has released their new Spring/Summer 2011 Collection Lookbook. The brand nicely adapts to the new trends of the season, presenting a slightly more casual and preppy style. From Blazers, M-65 jackets, knitwear to a solid line-up of shirts and polos, the collection has a lot to offer, of course all at very reasonable prices.

Uniqlo +J Spring/Summer 2011 Collection – A Full Look

Today we get a first full look at the new Uniqlo +J Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, once again designed by Jil Sander. The line gets much more technical than in previous seasons and we especially like the outerwear offering. Of course you also get a nice choice of well cut shirts, knitwear, pants and some accessories. Next to the usual black, white and mud tones, you will also find some color accents in this new collection, which hits stores January 26th.

According to GQ, who had a chance to check the line already, “brings the same minimalist perspective Sander has built a brand on to monochromatic winter staples—items like gray puffer jackets; thick, hearty cardigans; and slimmed down wool pants—all at insanely affordable prices.”

The Jil Sander designed Uniqlo +J Collection is the best thing we have seen from Uniqlo in the past couple of seasons and it continues to be strong. Today we present the Fall/Winter 2010 range, featuring some fantastic outerwear, blazers, coats, shirts and more. As you can imagine the colors are kept simple, the cuts clean, just like we know it from the German designer.

Uniqlo Opens 2nd New York Store
