Here’s a quick preview of what you can expect from the Vans OTW Collection for Fall 2012. Highlights include a few camo sneakers, some new OTW boots and a range of tweed styles shoes. All in all lots to look forward to from Vans OTW.

Shot and edited by renowned photographer Peter Sutherland, this mini-documentary follows Vans OTW Advocate Eric Elms through Tokyo for his Wish You Were Here exhibition at Common Gallery last fall. Aside from elaborating on his means of expression, Elms also speaks candidly about his interest in the zine format, history of Kilroy, Japanese culture and more.

Recently Vans OTW held a massive event in Berlin during Bread & Butter and invited not only their latest advocates, including Lupe Fiasco, to town, but also Mos Def. They performed on stage in Berlin for hundreds of fans that had to fight to get a ticket for the exciting evening.

Spring 2012 of the Vans OTW Collection presents a trio of updated silhouettes with the Native American Pack. The Bedford and Ludlow come crafted in a combination of premium pull-up leather and heavy washed canvas, while the Alomar makes its mark with an all-leather aesthetic. Each shoe is finished off with antiqued eyelets, laser etched logo details and Native American print canvas linings.

On Wednesday night Vans launched its Spring 2012 OTW footwear line during Berlin Fashion Week as part of a 3-day pop-up House of Vans experience featuring live performances by the Patta Sound System, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and new OTW advocate Lupe Fiasco.

The free exhibition by the Vans OTW advocates included photography by Parisian Dimitri Coste, an art installation by Brooklyn-based Eric Elms and vinyl toy art and sculptures by Hong Kong resident and new OTW advocate Chris Kong.

Lupe Fiasco performed crowd favorites “Kick, Push” and “Superstar.” Live music played throughout the venue and Yasiin Bey brought the house down with an inspired performance of classic favorites and new material.

Vans introduces the 2012 OTW advocates Lupe Fiasco and Chris Kong. The two join Eric Elms and Dimitri Coste as creative forces collaborating with OTW designers.

Lupe and Chris will join the OTW crew in Berlin next Wednesday for a special launch event during the Bread & Butter trade show. The experience kicks off January 18th with a live musical appearance by Lupe Fiasco, Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) and The Patta Sound System at the Vans Department in the Mitte District of Berlin, located at Auguststrasse 5.

A limited number of tickets will be available to the public through select Berlin retailers who carry the OTW line and the show will be webcast live at stickam.com/vans1966.

Vans’ OTW line continues to unveil some of its new styles for Spring 2012 and next up to be showcased is this Stovepipe sneaker. Check out some details regarding this release below:

Debuting in three different colorways – white canvas, grey hazybuck and black savannah leather – the Stovepipe is our deconstructed, slimmed-down, progressive and new mid-top design. Spring 2012 marks the debut of the Ludlow Decon in the Vans OTW Collection. Available later this month at OTW retailers, the new silhouette is a slimmed down update of the original Ludlow model minus the lining materials and binding for a lighter and more comfortable fit. The molded polyurethane insole and sittched-down cupsole work together to maintain a relaxed wear all day long.

The Woessner returns this spring to the Vans OTW Collection with a trio of new colorways – black distressed denim, pewter distressed denim and navy washed canvas. The Vans OTW Woessner blends the low top look from Classics like the Authentic with the aesthetics of the modern day, slimmed-down sneaker. Available shortly.
