2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the greatest skate shoe of all time, the Vans Half Cab. In celebration of this occasion and skateboarders’ knack for challenging the status quo and making their voices heard, Vans will be dropping one new and exclusive limited edition 20th Anniversary Half Cab colorway every month throughout the course of the year.

Beginning in January, Vans and Supreme take us back to where it all started with a limited edition (20 pairs worldwide!) hand-cut and duct-taped Vans Caballero high top. Each pair individually cut, numbered and signed by Cab himself and available exclusively at select Supreme Stores worldwide while supplies last.

The shoes will be available Saturday January 28, only at Supreme New York, Supreme Los Angeles, Supreme London and Supreme Tokyo Harajuku. 5 pairs per store.

Vans Vault has released its first new styles for Spring 2012 and it stays as solid as it possibly could. The Authentic Premium LX and Slip-On Premium LX get the leather treatment, adding a great deal of quality to these two all time Vans classics. Both sneakers come in each two colorways this season and should be coming to retailers now.

On Wednesday night Vans launched its Spring 2012 OTW footwear line during Berlin Fashion Week as part of a 3-day pop-up House of Vans experience featuring live performances by the Patta Sound System, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and new OTW advocate Lupe Fiasco.

The free exhibition by the Vans OTW advocates included photography by Parisian Dimitri Coste, an art installation by Brooklyn-based Eric Elms and vinyl toy art and sculptures by Hong Kong resident and new OTW advocate Chris Kong.

Lupe Fiasco performed crowd favorites “Kick, Push” and “Superstar.” Live music played throughout the venue and Yasiin Bey brought the house down with an inspired performance of classic favorites and new material.

Taka Hayashi has been a star player on the Van Vault design team since his first release in 2006. From then he’s pushed on to not only brilliantly rework existing Vans silhouettes, but also to create entirely new ones, many of which have gone on to be among the strongest footwear in the line.

This Spring we see another impressive series from Taka, who once again plays with themes culled from traditional American hand craft, mating them with Vans DNA and top notch materials. The TH Engineer Boot, TH Sierra Trek Hi and TH Sierra Trek Lo will be out for February.

Here comes the next preview from the Vans California Spring 2012 Collection. This time the iconic mid top Chukka gets remixed. The Chukka TC CA comes with a new toe cap feature and will be available in three colorways. You can expect the sneaker to turn up at retailers still this month.

Simple but really good, is something we can say more often about Vans than any other sneaker brand out there. From the new Vans Classics Spring 2012 Collection we present the ‘Washed Canvas’ Pack. The low top Era comes in three colorways as part of the pack, perfect to wear with a nice pair of chinos in the warmer months of the year.

We like the Vans California LP Penny Loafer CA right away when it releases for the first time. Fusing the classic Penny Loafer style with a Vans look, makes for a great shoe for the summer months.

For Spring/Summer 2012, the shoe returns as part of the California collection in three colorways. Suede/leather uppers and a bi-tonal stripe on the heel make for a clean, yet sophisticated look. Look out for these to come to retailers this week.

Just the other day we came across a possibly upcoming collaboration between Supreme and Vans on a ‘Campbell’s Soup’ themed Vans Authentic low top canvas sneaker. Opinions were with no surprise all over the place about the bold design.

Here is now another sample that turned up on the net, again the Authentic silhouette in canvas, this time featuring the classic Paisley pattern all over. We are sure these will find a more general liking. Again, we cannot confirm that these will actually come out, but chances are high.

UPDATE: It looks like these are actually Eras.

In an interesting new collaboration, Vans has teamed up with NVy by F.A.T. and with retailer Beauty & Youth on their iconic Slip-on low top sneaker. The sneaker comes in a really nice dark navy canvas version with contrasting stitching, small logo embroidery on the upper and collaborative logo placements on the in-sole. Look out for a release in the coming weeks.
