We present the new A.D.H.D. music video by Kendrick Lamar, directed by downtown’s favorite, Vashtie.

“I had the honor of directing a music video for one of my new favorite artists – Kendrick Lamar. After falling in love with his mixtape Section.80 and playing it on repeat, I was given the choice to pick any song to direct. I settled on “A.D.H.D.” for it’s dark beat and melancholy lyrics, tones that have always resonated with me. Like most of Kendrick’s songs off Section.80, it felt like a confessional of a conflicted generation; a timeless and universal theme.

I wanted the video to illustrate the emotion he paints with words, while avoiding gratuitous shots of any substance. Despite the song’s title and content, the focus isn’t the drugs, but rather, that basic human experience of apathetic youth. That simple mood of emptiness which we choose to either address or self-medicate.

Kendrick is a monster. Not only is he gifted as a musician, but as a person, he’s a genuine sweetheart.

Jordan has teamed up with New York-based creative Vashtie Kola to pay homage to all the ladies rocking Jordans on the regular. “This limited-edition shoe brings a lavender and deep-purple colorway to deliver a more feminine style. The details didn’t go overlooked either, with hints of silver integrated into the laces to complement the metallic midsole.” Scheduled for an October 2, 2010 release.

Cash and Caviar brought TONE in to shoot and edit an interview with director/Violette owner/”Downtown’s Sweetheart” Va$htie Kola.

In the summer of 2009, Supreme conducted a photoshoot and interview with the legendary Puff Daddy (aka P.Diddy). Terry Richardson took care of the camera while Vashtie handled the wordplay. Enjoy the behind scenes video!

Inspired by uptown and downtown, hip hop and rock, the brand was initially launched as a female focused label, but several men’s t-shirts have arrived for Summer 2009.
