highsnobiety - New Balance x Almond | 574 Velcro & Ninja Jackets
Once again New Balance joins forces with Almond. Previously we have already seen several collaboration sneakers between the two brands. This time it gets a little more interesting though.
The New Balance x Almond 574 comes in all black with most of the upper covered in velcro. Unlike with the New Balance x The Hideout collaboration, where only the New Balance logo could be interchanged, you can apply patches all over the sneaker in this case.
Along with the 574 sneaker, they also made two technical "Ninja" rain jackets, coming in a shiny black and matt black, both featuring subtle logo applications and technical materials. Via Colorfarm.
Expect a release of the pack this Fall.
More detailed images of both the sneakers and the jackets follow after the jump.

Airwalk Re-Introduces The Vic Velcro

18 March 2008, 22.35 | Posted in Sneakers | No comments »

airwalk vic velcro - highsnobietyRare talent isn’t the only thing that was celebrated at this year’s SXSW Festival; rare sneakers are too.  A few lucky musicians and aficionados walked away with one of a select few Airwalk heritage styles that were reintroduced in Austin this year, including the eponymous Airwalk Vic Velcro.
Originally introduced in 1987, Vic took on a life of his own, making an indelible mark in the industry as one of the most iconic skate styles of all time.  Vic Velcro’s “lace saver” flap was designed to help skaters from blowing out laces during aggressive sessions on in the pipe or on pavement.  The sleek high top is as innovative today, as it was back in the day, and even enjoys a viral fan base of skate and sneaker enthusiasts alike.
After two decades, the Vic Velcro embarked on a special domestic reunion tour as the marquee product at a special Airwalk presentation at the Spin/MySpace San Jacinto Saloon at the South by South West Music Festival in Austin, Texas from March 13-16th 2008.  As one of the select range of classic Airwalk styles available for men and women, the Vic Velcro is one of the first re-releases for the Airwalk brand and will not being sold to the general public.  The Vic Velcro took its place as one of the most coveted collectables items for attending performers, musicians, tastemakers and the music industry press.  Check out www.Airwalk.com for details on the Vic Velcro to come.

King Stampede Velcro Patch New Era Cap

RTEmagicC ks velcro 1.jpg King Stampede Velcro Patch New Era Cap
We have seen it last year on sneakers, introduced by New Balance and now it has also found its way onto the New Era cap. King Stampede, a brand known for their strong New Era cap design, is the first to present a cap that comes with interchangeable velcro patches.
If you remember, the brand had a technical jacket in their Holiday 2007 collection, that also came with velcro patches. The very same patches will also fit onto the new New Era cap. The cap itself stays very simple in design – all black canvas with a King Stampede logo embroidery on the back.
There is no set release date so far, but once released it will of course come with several patches. Check out more pics after the jump.
