Canadian game maker Radical Entertainment will release this month the sequel to the 2009 success Prototype. The games’ protagonist, James Heller, has to destroy the Backlight Virus in the game. A story of revenge, Heller wants to catch the killers of his family. The new game launches on April 24, 2012, and for the occasion the Prototype 2 Film, The Power of Revenge, has released. A rather impressive trailer for a video game. Enjoy!
Here comes a rather unexpected move by Swedish furniture brand/discounter IKEA – they are moving into electronic. Of course IKEA found the perfect way in for themselves. Taking the mess of home entertainment systems as the starting point, the brand figured out that in order to get rid of it, they would have to combine the furniture and the electronics – that is exactly what they ended up doing.
Come Fall 2012, The Verge reports that IKEA will be introducing their first home entertainment system products – UPPLEVA.
“The range includes three designs, all of which incorporate an LED TV, 2.1 sound system with wireless subwoofers, Wi-Fi for smart TV features, and DVD / Blu-Ray players. The company is planning to launch in Sweden, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Denmark, Norway, and Portugal in the fall, with a worldwide rollout in spring 2013. The furniture is intended to hide away cables, and will come in a number of different color options.
A few specs on the system have been announced — the LED panels are full HD (suggesting 1080p) which Ikea says have a 400Hz refresh rate and come in four sizes, with four HDMI inputs, two USB ports, and support for DivX HD files. There’s also extra storage, which means that your Xbox 360 and PS3 won’t need to be left out.
The range, dubbed “Uppleva” (meaning experience) is designed to make your home entertainment simpler to use, with one remote to command the whole system. It’s built by Chinese manufacturer TCL, a company better known in the US under the RCA brand, or as Alcatel in Europe. The base model is set to cost SEK 6,500 (about $995) with a 5-year guarantee, though it’s not clear what’s included at this price point, or how much the full version will cost.”
As long as they keep the build-up instructions for these things simple, we do not see how this cannot become a success!
The Avengers is coming to movie theaters around the globe soon and therefore anticipation and teasers of the film are of course everywhere. Today we get an interesting look at one of the most exciting cars to be featured in the film – the Acura NSX Roadster.
Inside Line had the unique opportunity to drive the car. Acura has signed a multi picture deal with Marvel, yet they needed something that was a worthy replacement for Tony Stark’s Audi R8. The old NSX was long out of production and the new one was not ready yet, so the studio and the car maker produced a hybrid of the old and the new. The outcome is rather respectable. A ‘91 NSX was used and a new body was added to it.
Check out the driving experience of the special Avengers Acura NSX Roadster here below.
You can check out various trailers of the film, which releases in theaters on May 4, here.

As you’ve likely already seen, last night the late West Coast rap legend Tupac Shakur performed at Coachella alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg thanks to the work of San Diego company AV Concepts. Performing classics “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” the four-minute holographic performance cost over $100,000 to execute. AV Concepts spoke to MTV about the project:
“We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre’s vision to bring this back to life,” said Nick Smith, president of AV Concepts, the San Diego company that projected and staged the hologram. “It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life.”
The Tupac hologram was several months in the planning and took nearly four months to create in a studio and though Smith was not able to reveal the exact price tag for the illusion, he said a comparable one could cost anywhere from $100,000 to more than $400,000 to pull off. “I can’t say how much that event cost, but I can say it’s affordable in the sense that if we had to bring entertainers around world and create concerts across the country, we could put [artists] in every venue in the country,” he said.
The life-size Tupac was amazingly realistic, down to the late rapper’s signature tattoos, Timberland boots, jewelry and movements, all of which were also recreated under the direction of Dre and his team.
Last night an interesting episode of The Simpsons aired. The iconic couch gag had been recreated by American artist Bill Plympton. You can watch it now here above.
Nike has unveiled the new kits for some of the leading football nations in the world, including five of the countries – Croatia, France, Netherlands, Poland and Portugal – that will take to the field in European football’s biggest national tournament this summer – the UEFA Euro Cup 2012.

Each kit is complimented with a full training collection, and lifestyle clothing for fans to show their support off the pitch.
Coachella 2012 is in full effect and has already featured some incredible performances on its first weekend. You can watch some of them, including M83, ASAP Rocky, Childish Gambino and others here.
One of the most impressive on stage performances though was for sure the show by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Of course these two are already worth seeing by themselves, but for Coachella 2012 they thought of something special. The two West Coast legends brought on stage a number of other great artists, including Kurupt, Warren G, Whiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.
Last but not least was the one and only 2 Pac, who was projected onto stage in the form of a hologram. What an amazing Day 3 of the festival.
Emporio Armani drops this EA7 video manifesto, which coincides with the launch of their new site, The Sense of Being. The stylish black and white video centers around sport and it is looking rather nice. Be sure to give it a view!

Here we present you some highlights from the weekend, including the live sets of Frank Ocean, featuring a Tyler The Creator cameo and Bob Dylan cover. Furthermore we present you videos of the performances of the Arctic Monkeys, M83, The Black Keys, Childish Gambino, ASAP Rocky, Radiohead and Pulp.
Today we come across an impressive product photography concept by BERG. We report all day about products releasing around the globe and sometimes it is still hard for us to imagine how people shop so much online these days, especially when it comes to more pricey items. Even though we have come very far, and top online retailers make sure to give the best images and videos (in some cases) possible in order for you to properly check out a product, it is far from perfect we would say.
BERG has come up with an interesting concept, shown in the video here below. Images extracted from HD videos of the products, while playing with both angles and focus, result in a pretty incredible experience we would say. Before we are getting too technical here, check out the video here below.
A further explanation of what BERG exactly did follows here. We cannot wait for such a shopping experience on the iPad in the future.
