In 1968 Nike and Onitsuka Tiger released Tiger Corsair, shortly after in 1972 it was re-released as the Cortez after the partnership between Nike and Onitsuka Tiger disintegrated.It featured total “toe to heel” cushioning, an innovation in training shoes for runners (at least in comparison to the thin-soled, rock-hard training shoes that predated the Corsair). This remake is of the original leather Cortez with a  full leather upper, rubber reinforced toe unit, original cortez sole and classic “Swoosh”.
The Nike Cortez Vintage Leather comes in three colorways and is available at Hanon.

Here a little preview of some upcoming Adidas models. They will soon released the Superstar Stars Pack. The pack consists of overall 4 Superstar colorways, each featuring stars embossed all-over the upper.

The Superstar Vintage also comes with a star pattern, but not embossed. It comes as a reflective print, which changes depending on the angle of light. The rainbow colored laces certainly stand out.

The Nike Vintage Running initiative is still going on and they continue to bring back classics in retro styles. Essentially they do not only bring them back in original colorways, they even give them an aged and used look. The latest sneaker to get the treatment is the Nike Terminator, which comes back as the Vintage Terminator in two classic colorways – white/red and grey/navy blue. Via Nicekicks.

The New Balance 576 is one of the classics by the brand, turning 20 this year, and since its inception it is produced in the UK. The leading sneaker of the 2008 collection, is being released for its anniversary in a vintage original version, and comes just like in the year of its birth in suede and mesh.
The sneaker comes in timeless New Balance colors, and the original sole unit from 1988. It will be released in two colorways, only at selected boutiques around the globe.

FUCT presents their latest pieces out of the Fall/Winter 2007 collection – the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) Collection. The BDU collection consists of t-shirts only and is inspired by 60’s and 70’s war. In part the t-shirts come printed on custom t-shirt bodies with a vintage look and feel to them. Over time Firmament has collected bags from Visvim’s earlier days, which is still not that long ago, but there were definitely some goodies around at the time that some of you are interested in getting their hands on.

We have presented part of the Garbstore collection a while back and have waited for its release with impatience. Garbstore aspires to be and draws it’s influence from what can be coined Unfamiliar Vintage. Created by former One True Saxon founder Ian Paley, Garbstore is based on Ian’s passion for deadstock vintage clothing. Original fabrics, button details, zips and zip pulls, plantation indigo denim and subtle references pay homage to the craftsmanship tailoring of days past whilst designs and patterns are re-imagined and made into pieces that are ‘historically new’. Look out for subtleties such as US talon zips, 5 needle double neck tees, 3 hole button detailing and pants tailored with 50’s griptape.
Hanon has received the Fall/Winter 2007 Collection and its looks great. From a classic shirt, baseball jacket, hunting jacket, denim, t-shirt to a technical shell jacket there is everything in the collection. This might actually be the first European collection that can compete in terms of quality and style with the high end Japanese brands that we report about so regularly.

Leroy Jenkins is known to carefully source fabrics to create one of a kind hoodies, jackets, inner linings in their collections. The left-over fabric is reused on their caps, which are manufactured by Estate LA. Here you see now the range of caps that will be coming out over the next couple of months. Today we came across XLarge Select and since we had not heard about this before we had a closer look at it. Basically XLarge has a new licensing deal with Altru Apparel. Altru Apparel makes Vintage t-shirts that concentrate on fit and quality and always have a bit the washed out look. They choose branding from companies that had the essence of a cultural movement and XLarge was for that of course a perfect fit.
Under the XLarge Select brand, Altru is bringing back some of XLarge’s strong old graphics on vintage t-shirts. This is just the introduction, soon we will give you a full look at the line.
