Today we get a nice preview of the upcoming Spring/Summer 2012 Lamina 22L backpack by Japanese brand visvim. The brand produced an interesting pattern for the new season, placed on the upper of the backpack, with the bottom coming in the micro corduroy that we already saw in last season’s visvim collection. Look out for a release of the backpack in the coming weeks.

Another highlight in the line-up of visvim New Year 2011-2012 items is the return of the popular visvim FBT JP mid top sneaker. Only a couple of years ago the production of the shoe returned to Japan, resulting in a quality upgrade, yet of course also in a price increase. This time the sneaker comes in a premium UK cowhide suede, in a series of colors, ranging from more subtle sand, black and light brown to more colorful versions in red and light blue.

visvim has a bunch of interesting new product releases coming out for the New Year, which we can already present you today. First of all their beautiful Elmendorf leather jacket returns made from Horween leather this time. The classic A-2 flight jacket comes in a beautiful brown/burgundy tone and features a Windstopper lining. These come in such limited quantities, that designer Hiroki Nakamura signs each on of them on a special label.

A rather interesting release comes this week from the visvim Footwear Collection. The Tabi Sashiko-Folk is a play on more traditional Japanese footwear, featuring a split-toe design. The upper is made of a premium suede with most of being covered in embroidery. The Japanese brand clearly shows in this release their deep knowledge and drive to release highly sophisticated and detailed product.

This weekend the SOPHNET designed visvim FBT will finally see a release. Dropping exclusively at SOPH stores and Isetan Men’s in Tokyo and Osaka, the mid top sneaker comes with a vulcanized outer sole in overall 4 premium suede versions. A very solid sneaker and interesting take on this most popular shoe style by visvim.

visvim releases this week a new series of the 7 Hole ‘73-Folk Boot. Featuring a mixed Italian vegetable tanned leather and Japanese canvas upper, the boots come in 5 colorways this time. We still like the brown leather/beige canvas version the best of the bunch.

visvim has released the Summit Papoose Backpack this week. The light weight daypack is made from Japanese baked nylon, Konbu, and reinforced with a Japanese canvas lower section. Coming in overall 4 colorways, we like the mix of materials and colors, giving the Summit Papoose a nice and refreshing look.

This week one of our favorite pieces from the visvim Fall/Winter 2011 Collection will release. Their Lamina 20L backpack comes in a new corduroy version. Especially developed by visvim, the corduroy used on the backpacks is both water resistant and wind resistant, ensuring good protection of your things. The backpack comes in a series of colorways with vegetable tanned leather bottoms and will be available from visvim retailers this week.

For Holiday 2011 visvim has released the Maliseet Shaman-Folk. Coming with a premium waxed Kudu hide upper, we really like the contrasting color flap placed around the ankle. Overall the low top shoe comes in 4 colorways. This is exactly the kind of shoe we like from visvim, as they are very different from everything else on the market and perfectly communicates their constant quest of bringing traditional shoe styles into the modern world.
