As part of its on-going Study And Practice Exhibition for their 10th anniversary, Japanese brand visvim will be releasing a limited edition version of its Grizzly Boots Mid-Folk. Inspired by 1960s US work boots, visvim presents them in a series of colorways, featuring UK cow hide premium leather uppers, with SocialSculpture denim by visvim inserts. The boots will release Saturday, November 12th, 2011, at the Gyre center in Omotesando, Tokyo. (Via honeyee)

As part of its Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, Sophnet has collaborated with visvim on a special version of the Homer Tote Bag and a matching zip wallet. Both come in a nice navy/black/white knit pattern, perfect for the current season. The two products will launch this weekend exclusively at Sophnet stores and Isetan department store.

This week visvim has released the FBT JP. Their popular sneaker comes with a premium UK suede cowhide upper, Vibram outersole, cork footbed and of course with the moccasin footwrap construction that makes the shoe extremely comfortable. Overall the sneaker comes in 4 colorways, including light brown, dark brown, sand and black.

Recently Japanese brand visvim re-opened its Sendai F.I.L. flagship store and today we can give you a look at the latest interior by Hiroki Nakamura. As usual each piece of clothing and footwear is treated like an object and nicely presented in wooden vitrines or sitting on tables and bases. Compared to previous F.I.L. stores, visvim decided to go with a slightly darker theme in this case, using more dark wood on both furniture, floors and design elements.

Today visvim will be opening its ‘Practice and Study’ exhibition in Tokyo. At the exhibition they will be releasing their 10th anniversary book and along with it, they will also release some special product. In terms of footwear the Japanese brand presents new versions of the FBT, Grizzly Boots Folk and the Maliseet Shaman-Folk. Furthermore they will also release some very interesting custom versions of the Social Sculpture denim jackets.

The Virgil boot is a long standing classic from visvim. This week they’re releasing a new F.I.L. exclusive Picaro-Folk variation in buttery blue suede. Burgundy, dark brown, sand, and indigo will also be available in-store at F.I.L. locations.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Japanese brand visvim is releasing a book, entitled ‘Dissertation on Self-Verification 2001-2011′. The book is being released on October 29th, 2011, along with the opening of an exhibition at the Gyre department store building in Omotesando, Tokyo.

A couple of months ago, we had the pleasure of checking out the book, which connects visvim products to its original references. The hand bound book comes limited to only 300 copies and also features two DVDs with exclusive films produced by the brand. Special items seen in the book, will go on sale at the exhibition as well.

A great new boot has released from the visvim Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. They present the Patrician Mid W.T. Folk boots, featuring leather uppers, wingtip accents, custom Vibram outer sole and a side-zipper. The boot comes this season in navy, burgundy, dark brown and black.

visvim presents a new video, giving a behind the scenes look at the indigo dyeing process in Tokushima, done by one of the few masters of the craft, left today. Sokuma is the raw material used for indigo and it is used in a solution without any chemicals, a method that has almost died out today and is completely different from a synthetic indigo pigment.

The beauty of natural indigo is the outcoming patterns. A naturally dyed garment will always have traces of irregularity, something that visvim considers the real beauty of the process. Check out the video here above!

The visvim Serra hiking boots return for Fall/Winter 2011. This season, the boots feature a waxed cowhide upper and Okayama denim detailing, as well as the usual visvim features, including a natural cork footbed, leather welt construction and the custom ‘visvim’ Vibram outer sole. The boots come in black, burgundy, light brown and navy.
