The Virgil boot is a long standing classic from visvim. This week they’re releasing a new F.I.L. exclusive Picaro-Folk variation in buttery blue suede. Burgundy, dark brown, sand, and indigo will also be available in-store at F.I.L. locations.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Japanese brand visvim is releasing a book, entitled ‘Dissertation on Self-Verification 2001-2011′. The book is being released on October 29th, 2011, along with the opening of an exhibition at the Gyre department store building in Omotesando, Tokyo.

A couple of months ago, we had the pleasure of checking out the book, which connects visvim products to its original references. The hand bound book comes limited to only 300 copies and also features two DVDs with exclusive films produced by the brand. Special items seen in the book, will go on sale at the exhibition as well.

A great new boot has released from the visvim Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. They present the Patrician Mid W.T. Folk boots, featuring leather uppers, wingtip accents, custom Vibram outer sole and a side-zipper. The boot comes this season in navy, burgundy, dark brown and black.

visvim presents a new video, giving a behind the scenes look at the indigo dyeing process in Tokushima, done by one of the few masters of the craft, left today. Sokuma is the raw material used for indigo and it is used in a solution without any chemicals, a method that has almost died out today and is completely different from a synthetic indigo pigment.

The beauty of natural indigo is the outcoming patterns. A naturally dyed garment will always have traces of irregularity, something that visvim considers the real beauty of the process. Check out the video here above!

The visvim Serra hiking boots return for Fall/Winter 2011. This season, the boots feature a waxed cowhide upper and Okayama denim detailing, as well as the usual visvim features, including a natural cork footbed, leather welt construction and the custom ‘visvim’ Vibram outer sole. The boots come in black, burgundy, light brown and navy.

An interesting new boot silhouette has released from the visvim Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The Decoy Raffia-Folk boot is a slip-in duck boot style, featuring a mixed leather and canvas upper with thick stitching details and outer sole. The boots come in overall 4 colorways and feature visvim branding on the upper and on the back of the sole.

I saw this PFD Corduroy Gortex jacket back at the Visvim trunk show hosted by Union earlier this year and it has haunted my memory ever since. Unfortunately, this 3-layer gem carries a pretty high price tag, but it is still something to marvel at on the aesthetics tip.

This season the PFD was made from an Italian thin whaled corduroy with denim contrast accents on the back of the collar and under the sleeves. It’s a 3 layer custom gore-tex. Raglan sleeves and stowable hood in the collar. Zip and button front closure.

Another fresh looking boot releases this week from the visvim Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The high rise Zermatt Boots Folk come in three leather versions, featuring hiking boot eyelets, a white Vibram outer sole and two-tone laces matching the sole design of the boot.

One of our favorite pieces from the new Moncler V Fall/Winter 2011 Collection in collaboration with visvim’s Hiroki Nakamura, is the Hooded Garther Jacket.

The navy hooded down jacket is made in a waterproof cotton-blend with cotton bouclé shoulder inserts and padded with premium down. Other nice details include a layered hood with drawstring leather detailing, drawstring at waist and a removable interior harness. Furthermore the jacket has two flap pockets, two zip pockets and one interior zip pocket. Overall a pretty much perfect winter jacket.
