Milan based brand VNGRD and FUCT got together to collaborate on a t-shirt, entitled “Sangue Italiano”. The t-shirt features a very detailed ink drawing by VNGRD’s Giorgio di Salvo and it will be part of the FUCT Spring/Summer 2009 Collection that releases next week.

We take a first look at some pieces from the VNGRD Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. The Italian brand has taken an interesting direction since last year, inserting more and more technical features into their clothing. That trend continues in their new collection, where they offer t-shirts with glued on pockets, seamless jackets, shorts, shirts and pants. The choice of color remains brave in some cases, yet we have to say we really like the mix and the overall look of the line.

Italian eyewear brand Super and fellow Italian streetwear brand Vanguard (VNGRD) got together to work on a pair of limited edition sunglasses. They chose the classic Wayfarer style. The exterior of the sunglasses come with a forest all-over print. The interior comes in purple and the Zeiss lenses as well.

Limited to only 50 pairs worldwide, the Super x VNGRD sunglasses will be released in the coming weeks. Three pairs have been put on sale already tonight in the Super online store.

Italian brand VNGRD and Slam Jam joined forces for a Christmas Pack. The pack consists of a custom t-shirt and a sack to wrap it up nicely. Limited to only 50 pieces, the pack is now available at Slam Jam stores and will soon also be available online.

Ithoughtiwasalone ( http://www.ithoughtiwasalone.com ) is a space dedicated to a new generation of photographers, led by Lele Saveri and Serena Pezzato. Its intent is not only to supply a curated window for up and coming photographers, but also for photographers who are already professionally involved in the business and who need an outlet for “personal projects”. In ITIWA, there are no guidelines for technique, aesthetic, nor content. The aim is solely to show beautiful things. As an old milanese poem states, “Curiosity put eyes in the body of human beings” and not the institution of art, thank god.

For the show during Milan’s Fashion Week, ITIWA set up at VNGRD, their good friends’ showroom. For this show they presented two limited edition t-shirts (15 pieces each, all numbered, available online from VNGRD). One with Carlotta Manaigo’s photograph and the other with Stefan Simikich’s. This concludes the final phase of “This is all I came to do,” the first ITIWA project. The show itself will run till the 4th of October.

It is always great seeing a brand grow from season to season. Vanguard out of Italy we have watched since they produced their very first t-shirts a couple of years ago. Today we give you a look at their Fall/Winter 2008 collection and things changed.
The brand offers a lot of cut & sew this season, consisting of both technical jackets and knitwear. On the jackets they used rainbow colored taping and zippers, which makes an interesting and as you might have guessed loud look. At the same time they bring their own interpretations of classics, such as a shiny version of the classic quilted Barbour jacket. They also offer some jewelry this season.
Definitely a collection that you should be looking out to. We are impressed for sure. Expect it to hit stores some time in September.
