This must come as a surprise to many, but Nicola Formichetti gives us a first preview of the upcoming issue 5 of Vogue Homme Japan and none other than Lady Gaga, alias Jo Calderone, is actually on it. There are two cover versions, both featuring the female artist, looking very male this time around. The issue releases on September 5th.

The team of Vogue Homme Japan recently visited the Visvim Fall/Winter 2009 Showroom. Aside from getting a glimpse at the upcoming collection, we find it most interesting that they reveal a new concept by Visvim that will let you change the sole of the sneaker. Good quality leather shoes are made to last for years, and usually all you need to do aside from cleaning them, is change the sole once in a while. Since Visvim produces sneakers with the same high end materials, it actually makes sense to keep them alive longer, by introducing the option of changing the sole. We cannot wait to see the actual execution of the concept later this year.

For the new issue of Vogue Homme Japan, the magazine commissioned none other than Hedi Slimane to shoot one of the main stories in the issue. Entitled “The Americans”, Hedi Slimane goes west with the photoshoot, integrating lots of American classics into the images. The full story can be seen here.
