Volta Special #777

‘Special #777′ is the first limited edition offering from young Italian footwear label Volta. For the first time, the label used a suede ribbed collar, rather than nylon, giving it a different shape and feel. The upper is a combination grey suede and white leather with calf leather laces. Limited to 504 pairs, each pair is hand marked with the code #777 and will only be available at 21 doors around the globe (7 in Italy, 7 in Europe, and 7 Internationally). Arrives next week at retailers such as Dover Street Market, Wood Wood, and Hanon.

Volta Footwear Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection

Entering their second year in business, Italian footwear label Volta introduces a number of new suede versions of their one-style sneaker/boot hybird. The chukka boot-esque design features premium suede uppers, a ribbed nylon collar and low profile sole. Any Volta product will have the same goal: to be “born a classic” – and with qualities such as comfortable, easy-to-wear, affordable and made-in-Italy marking the brand, it’s hard to disagree. Now arriving at finer retailers worldwide.

volta footwear 1 Volta Footwear

It’s an interesting time. While the big players in the sneaker market still rule, the consumer seems to be more open than ever before to try out something else. Independent footwear brands such as Common Projects, Opening Ceremony, Gram and others, are filling the gap and offering something new. Today we give you a look at another new player in the market – Volta.

A mono-product unisex style, Volta ombines the casual standards to a sneaker feel; a product brand with no
strong local styles, ready to be marketed to a wide international audience. The use of nylon on the back-side breaks the formal look, giving new flavour to a standard boot-style. The shape is a little pointy, to give the shoes a stronger outlook and to increase brand recognition. The color-range gives the product different kinds of taste: the white styles can have a stronger sneaker appeal, while the brown-beige-green move closer to a casual-boot look as much as grey-navy-red can be seen as more fashion-oriented.

The Italian brand will be available soon in some of the most recognized boutiques around the globe, including Best Shop Berlin, Henrik Vibskov Copenhagen, Ships Japan, Lane Crawford and many more. Expect first styles to be available as of January 2009.

Take a detailed look at the first product offering of Volta after the jump.
