It is still surprising seeing brands that have been around for such a long time only launch their web presence now. In Japan we come across this more often than elsewhere though. Today Jun Takahashi announces that on October 22nd the brand will be showing its Spring/Summer 2012 Women’s Collection online and if you want to watch it on their new website, you have to register (starting today) and get a password.

This week New Balance launched the new website www.nb574.com. On the site they document the lives of creatives, including visual artists, sound engineers, graphic designers and others. Next to these documentary style short films, the site of course also reports about the latest interesting products and projects coming from the iconic sneaker brand. Make sure to check it out here.

Today we came across a fantastic personal blog by Google Creative Lab’s Ed Kim. Kim has launched his personal blog called “Wear Today”, which he shows what he is wearing every day illustrated. adidas has just launched  a new adidas Skateboarding website. The cleanly designed site is packed with a lot of great material, including a video project called “Diagonal” featuring their European skate team and some detailed information on the launch of the new Dennis Busenitz pro model. One of our favorite parts is the animated Gonz “Shmoo” character that floats around encouraging you to register.

Visvim has finally launched their official website. We have been waiting for years and now finally they took the step and present Visvim.tv. Bape has today officially launched a dedicated website for the US. At us.bape.com you find a news section, Spring/Summer 2009 Collection presentation and the online store will also be launching soon. This is just another step in the worldwide expansion of the brand.

It will be interesting to watch how the brand balances exclusivity and expansion. Its a difficult subject and there is no easy solution. So far, if you are a fan of the brand or not, they managed this balance pretty well, still selling out most of their stock. In the US people still had to make the trip to the stores in NYC and LA, that is over once the online store launches.

While on that subject, check out a recent article in the LA Times on this exact subject. They spoke to The Hundreds about growing, while maintaining the connection to their customer. Check it out here.

10 Corso Como has launched their website, now featuring tons of information on their stores around the globe. Also they will be launching an online store, which is great news, for anybody not living in Milan, Tokyo or Seoul. The online store will carry products from the store, as well as a large amount of 10 Corso Como branded product.

The Colette website has always set itself apart from the rest, today they relaunched the site in a new design and with lots of new functionality. Seeming simple at first, the site boast tons of customization options, making everybodies experience a different and unique one, which is certainly an idea the store has always wanted to transmit. Now the website is in line with that message! Also it is much easier to navigate, making it much more fun to go through the several sections of the site.

Converse has launched a series of mini sites on various subjects. There is for example a site celebrating the Celtics victory, a site on how to kiss, a site experimenting how a Chuck Taylor reacts when lying for a couple of days in soda and many other "very important" subjects.
