WK Interact for Wired Magazine

wk interact wired magazine cover 1 WK Interact for Wired Magazine

Artist WK Interact completed art work which was intended to be utilized for the cover of the new Wired Magazine, but unfortunately, the publication opted to not move forward with this as its cover. Luckily, we can present it anyway and from what we understand, there is art work still in the magazine from WK Interact as part of a spread inside the issue. That’s still a good reason to run out and cop.

Take a full look at the cover after the jump.

RE:FORM School Exhibition Recap

RE:FORM School is an interesting initiative that brings art to the recently closed Nolita school. They teamed up with a series of high profile artists for a pop-up gallery. Curated Magazine managed to review the exhibition.

“RE:FORM SCHOOL is a high profile, pop up art exhibition, event series, and public awareness campaign in support of letsRedu.com. It is designed to bring together and engage the creative community in the drive to reform the American public education system. Public education is positioned to have its pop culture moment in 2010.

Supported by artists such as Shepard Fairey, Chris Johnson, Jo Jackson, Swoon, Ron English, FAILE, Maya Hayuk and WK Interact, as well as over 100 others, the exhibition will feature their new works based on the shows 5 main themes: Knowledge is Power, Community, Teachers Inspire, Creativity and Innovation.”

Check out all the artwork that was created as part of RE:FORM School here.

The latest edition of Upper Playground’s Walrus TV features legendary New York based street artist WK Interact. Inspired by the concepts of movement, gesture, and place, WK Interact’s site-specific pieces have garnered notoriety through the obvious concern for spatial context with which he approaches each location and through his fluid depictions of figures in motion. Blurring lines between street art, fine art, and design, WK Interact has exhibited in galleries internationally and collaborated with brands such as Nike, Adidas, and BMW. Check out the above interview from Walrus TV and “The Run Up” to learn more!
