Generic Surplus x Wood Wood Olney Bike Sneakers 011 Generic Surplus x Wood Wood Bike Shoe

Generic Surplus and Danish label Wood Wood have come together to launch a bike shoe for spring.

Combining the spirit of modern day L.A. with chic Scandinavian minimalism, the laid-back, refined designs that characterize the Generic Surplus brand is paired with Wood Wood’s practical sophistication, resulting in a stylish yet functional mid-top shoe that is as ideal for a bike ride through Copenhagen as it is cycling down the Santa Monica Boardwalk.

The sneaker is based on the Generic Surplus Olney, and is upgraded in weather resistant treated canvas with an overlay toe cap, extra seams and a non-skid rubber for better grip.

Wood Wood Fall/Winter 2011 Runway Presentation

This weekend we attended the most recent runway presentation by Danish brand Wood Wood. Now operating stores in Copenhagen, Berlin and Vienna, the brand has come a long way. For the upcoming season they present an increased line-up of knitwear and remixed classic pieces of their line, such as the M-65 jacket and the Bomber jacket, come in new materials, including leather. We would have hoped for some stronger colors and are not sure if the styling of the presentation was perfect for the collection. Nevertheless we could spot several strong pieces that we look forward to seeing in store later this year.

Pointer by Wood Wood Shoes

In an interesting collaboration footwear brand Pointer and Danish brand Wood Wood have linked up for Spring/Summer 2011.

“This spring, heritage inspired footwear brand Pointer and Danish designers Wood Wood present a collaboration that combines classical design and modern trends.

The result is a trend setting shoe in two strong colour ways: purple and racing green.

Wood Wood’s intention of the project was to work with a traditional inspired style and give it a fresh twist. The Pointer Crago is just that, a simple and sophisticated lace-up shoe with a stitch-down construction.

Coming in suede, the Pointer by Wood Wood shoe attains its special character not only by its vibrant colours but also thorough the perforations on the vamp that are a reference to both brogues and moccasins.

For the first time, the Crago comes with a crepe sole that completes the projects style perfectly. Also, each pair of shoes comes with three different sets of cord laces, allowing the wearer to play around with different colour combinations to personalize each shoe individually.

All these details bring out the brands signatures and make it a unique and exceptional shoe.

The limited WW Crago is hand-made in Portugal, guaranteeing high quality leathers and fabrication.”

The shoes will launch February 2011 exclusively at Wood Wood Stores and at frontlineshop.com.

Take a look at the second colorway of the shoe collaboration after the jump.

Wood Wood Pop-Up Store Hamburg
Wood Wood announces a pop up store in Hamburg, Germany at YBDPT STUDIO. The store will carry the Wood Wood Double Denim Japanese denim line.

The interior is made by Berlin-based artist Gary Summer, who made an installation of intertwining wooden panels still leaving the features of the wood visible. The pop up store at the Comme des Garçons store in Warsaw, that Wood Wood did in 2008, was also designed with tape – which is in Hamburg used to coat the wooden panels.

The zine Knive, featuring local photographers such as Felix Krüger, is published today. (arkitip)

The shop is open now at Marktstrasse 117 in Hamburg St. Pauli.

More images of the shop and zine follow.

ellesse by Wood Wood Capsule Collection Available

Today the ellesse by Wood Wood Collection has been released. The Danish brand worked with the heritage sports brand on a small capsule collection, consisting of track jackets, shorts, crewneck sweaters, fisherman hat and of course also some sneakers. While we find the sneakers rather unspectacular, we actually like the collaborative branding that the two have come up with and would therefore recommend the crewneck sweaters from the line. Sneakersnstuff has the collection in stock now.

Detailed images of the complete ellesse by Wood Wood range follow after the jump.
