"Daiki hasn’t pulled his designer punches this time, it’s possibly the most perfect collaboration we’ve seen, the quality of each piece is outstanding, but never over done. Daiki’s understanding of functional clothing is out of this world, if you’re looking for a jacket or shirt that’s going to last you a lifetime, will never go out of fashion and never really be in fashion (thank god), this stuff was made for you."
Woolrich is one of the classic American workwear brands. Just like so many others, an Italian company bought the license for Europe and created based on the heritage of the brand a lifestlye brand. The brand blew up in Europe already about 5 years ago and has now arrived back in the US and in Japan. The European line is manufactured in the US and the US line is actually manufactured in Asia. As a result the European line looks completely different and is of much higher quality as well as pricing. Vans has an incredible year behind itself. Their regular lines, as well as their collaborations and especially the Syndicate collection, has been very well received. With people increasingly being fed up by the multicolor faux fur patent leather reflective 3M releases by the big players in the market, Vans has carved out a solid market segment for itself, delivering solid classics in meaningful new design.
That also does not seem to stop any time soon. 2007 was certainly also the plaid year. We cannot remember a single brand out there that did not go into plaid, either in the form of shirts or sneakers. Vans takes it one step further and brings their classics together with Pendleton Woolen Mills, one of the most traditional and respected wool companies in the US. The outcome is the Pendleton by Vans pack under the Syndicate umbrella. Thanks to Crooked Tongues we can show you some first pictures of this exciting release.
The pack consists of a Sk8-Hi, Half Cab and some Old Skools. Each sneaker has an upper mixed of black premium suede and Pendleton plaid. Our favorite is for sure the Half Cab in this release. The pack will be released in February 2008!
After the jump some more detailed pics.

As we have seen with many brands, also classic American workwear brand Woolrich, gave out a license to its name to an Italian company a few years ago, that created a very prestigious collection and over the years good name for Woolrich on the European market.
Now the brand worked with Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki on a special collection, which mostly consists of their signature red/black plaid, vintage plaid. Usually they source the plaid, that in the meanwhile became quite rare and create a few special products every season with it. This time Colette will be showcasing the products that are part of this collection.
