woolrich woolen mills fall 2012 lookbook-01
Over the weekend Woolrich Woolen Mills presented their new Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Designed by Mark McNairy, the inspiration stems from the designer’s southern heritage, with Civil War references and references to Sergio Leone’s film The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. McNairy reworks many archival Woolrich fabrics in new colorways and patterns. All made in the USA and finished by hand.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Watch Hat

Fall/Winter 2011 is the first Woolrich Woolen Mills Collection designed by American designer Mark McNairy and we could not think of a simpler, yet better item, to show the passing on of the reign at WWM from Daiki Suzuki to McNairy than the above watch hat.

From a strong heritage Americana look to a military preppy look, Woolrich Woolen Mills presents the premium wool watch hat, featuring a hand stenciled WWM detail on the front. END has it in two colors now.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Selectism already presented boots and espadrilles from the Woolrich Woolen Mills Spring/Summer 2012 Collection from Pitti Uomo last week. We take a look at the full line today, which was presented this weekend in Milan.

While keeping some of the Daiki Suzuki infused vintage inspiration, New York designer Mark McNairy takes the collection in a new direction and we really like what we are seeing. Rather than sticking too much to the heritage, which many have grown tired of, he adds ivy league cool to the brand. The result is a somewhat younger, cleaner and just overall more easy to wear collection, complemented with a couple of stand-out bold pieces.

Check out the Woolrich Woolen Mills Spring/Summer 2012 Collection after the jump.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Fall/Winter 2011 Collection Presentation

Woolrich Woolen Mills Fall/Winter 2011 Collection Presentation

During Pitti Uomo Woolrich Woolen Mills presented their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, designed by Mark McNairy. The details of the presentation nicely reflect the principals and ideas that also stand behind the collection. Obviously the new line still has its roots in workwear, yet it seems a little less extreme than their previous collections, which we actually appreciate.

“Woolrich Woolen Mills created a military style mess hall in the Galeria Lorenzelli to complement the military influences on the collection. Designed by Francesca Sarti of Arabeschi di Lalle, a Milan based food designer, all of the food and drink under the tent was made with local ingredients and carried information on the carbon output necessary to make the food, allowing the presentations attendees to calculate their meals carbon footprint rather than caloric value.”

Take a look at the setup and at some first Fall/Winter ‘11 looks after the jump.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Weekend Pack in Black and Navy Stripe

Woolrich Woolen Mills Weekend Pack in Black and Navy Stripe
This beautiful black and navy striped wool appears throughout the new Woolrich Woolen Mills collection on jackets and shirting, but when applied to a weekend pack, gets very Highsnob.

Daiki Suzuki’s Fall/Winter 2010 Woolrich Woolen Mills line is a parade of blacks and blues. Influenced by both the stark colors from late 1970’s and early 80’s designer labels like Comme des Garcons – an aesthetic he grew up with and learned much from – as well as his passion for Americana and Woolrich hunting plaids, Daiki Suzuki searched for a common ground and created a wholly new style that could be called “Dark Hunting” or “Hunting Noir.” As with past collections for Woolrich Woolen Mills, Daiki Suzuki has drawn upon the renowned heritage of Woolrich patterns and fabrics, using Hudson Bay stripes, hunting plaids, and herringbone all produced in the historic Woolrich, PA mills.

Now available through Blackbird.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook
Having seen a number of previews from Woolrich Woolen Mills, we’re now met with a look book featuring living, breathing people. Probably the best collection from the brand so far, the Fall/Winter 2009 line up features an abundance of rich red and orange tones over a series of classic American workwear items. An outstanding array patterns and textures with great finishing touches such as leathered elbows and toggles make for a very impressive season. Set to hit stores in the next month.

Go into detail with Woolrich Woolen Mills Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook after the hurdle.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Spring/Summer 2010 Collection Preview

woolrich woolen mills spring 2010 000 Woolrich Woolen Mills Spring/Summer 2010 Collection Preview

Once again Woolrich Woolen Mills presents a very solid collection for Spring/Summer 2010. We especially enjoy the layering and use of classic patterned pieces.

“The Surfing sub culture embraced classic California clothing brands that  were originally designed for outdoor sports like camping and hiking. Some of the California brands were intended for Surfers themselves when they were off [their] boards…The key piece of the collection is the Carlsbad Jacket, inspired by vintage outdoor jackets of the 1960’s. The fabric is a water resistant durable cotton poly poplin that was considered the best fabric for the outdoors.”
