As funny as this may sound, Gallery 1950 is pretty much the “go-to guy” for rug and mat collabs (at least in our realm.) Though this isn’t a collab per se, the current World Cup stranglehold makes this just as newsworthy. The G1950 Field Mat is a football field styled rug, complete with a center circle made up of the G1950 namesake.

The pop-up shop will showcase the Umbro World Champions collection as well as an outdoor viewing space outfitted with multiple flat screens to broadcast live games from South Africa. The Umbro A.R.C. pop-up shop is located at 157 Rivington Street in New York City’s Lower East Side. Today we attended a press conference for the launch of adidas‘ Official Match Ball for the final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Entitled “Jo’Bulani”, the ball is a unique gold-colored version of the South African-inspired “Jabulani”, which pays tribute to the host city of Johannesbury or Jo’burg (the City of Gold) through its name and colorway. The adidas Jo’Bulani will be available at retail from April 20th onwards.

The latest item to be revealed in Nike Sportswear’s impressive line up of World Cup 2010 products is a canvas Sweet Classic High. Paying tribute to Brazil, the sneaker is adorned both inside and out with imagery from Brazilian artist Nunca. Interestingly, the sneaker lacks both a Swoosh and the tell-tale Sweet Classic foxing stripe, bringing forth a distinctly different look than we’re used to seeing on this silo.

adidas has recently added two Sambas to the swelling range of World Cup 2010 product (though most of what we’ve seen so far has been from the Swoosh). The indoor footie sneakers come in basic leather color ups – black on white for the US and red on gum for Germany. Each shoe also includes a country-specific lace jewel. You can find them at HUF.

Following yesterday’s World Cup madness in London, Beinghunted has a great new feature on the “Brazil Black Pack” from Nike Sportswear.

Soccer is a big subject this year, wit the Euro Cup coming up in little time. Nike has already released a bunch of sneakers with the soccer theme and here is another one. Even though Brazil is not taking part in the Euro Cup this summer, they are still one of the most celebrated teams in the world and they sponsored by Nike, thus they now get their own Dunk Hi.
The Dunk comes in the taditional Brazilian colors – yellow/green on white base with a bit of patent leather around the toe box.
These are now available at The Darkside Initiative in San Francisco.
