The return of the Mesh Back Cap has happened rather suddenly, but by most accounts has been relatively painless. The latest New Era mesh back cap we’ve come across is this WTAPS variation. As part of the on-going LAMF collection, the colorway and logo both evoke memories of the glory days of the NHL.  The standard WTAPS red tag also makes an appearance. Now in stock at The Darkside Initiative.

The WTAPS Spring/Summer 2009 Edge Field Boots have finally been released. The premium suede leather boots come this season in light beige and in black, both featuring a leather mid sole and a white outer sole, giving the boots a clean finish. The piping comes in full grain leather and the WTAPS logo has been embossed on the front of the boot. Both colorways of the WTAPS Edge Field Boots are now available at Cliff Edge.

We get a first look at the new URSUS Bape collection, designed by Tetsu Nishiyama (Tet) of WTAPS. He is the creative director of the new URSUS Bape line from Fall/Winter 2009. The line is an extension to the collaborative t-shirts that were previously only available in Japan. The Bape General’s logo has been transformed into a skull, which makes up the motif of the URSUS logo. The collection will consist of “dark” and “pop-art like” designs with a lot of attention to detail and craftmanship. You can expect to see clothing and accessories, featuring authentic military, work and outdoor inspired pieces. We are definitely looking forward to see the line. Here above a little preview.

For Summer 2009 the three silhouettes that WTAPS already created with Vans Syndicate last season are coming back with slight updates. They present the Rudeez S in royal blue, the Bash S in brown tones and the Greaserz S in a light beige suede, once again all three looking really good. The Glade has them in stock right now.

Japanese label WTAPS have released a couple of interesting new accessories for summer. The first item in the latest delivery is a soft cotton Shemagh for cooler days and nights. The scarf features a two color woven design with reverse colors on back and comes in blue or white. Next up is the Wales Field Cap, a driver style cap assembled from various patches of oxford fabric. The shape is a little bigger on top for a looser summer. Each item features signature WTAPS labeling. The new product is now available online at The-Glade and in-store at FIRMAMENT in Berlin.

Once again new product from the WTAPS Spring/Summer 2009 collection has been released. The Japanese brand has released some nice short collar polo shirts, short-sleeve shirts in several colorways, union work pants and several graphic t-shirts.

A while back we announced that Nigo was stepping down from the head designer position of Bape. Right away rumors came up that Tet, head designer of WTAPS, was taking over the reigns at A Bathing Ape. Today we get a first behind the scenes look at the Ursus Bape collection, which is designed by Tet. We cannot wait to see what the outcome of this collaboration is and can only hope for the best. Judging from the designs we known from WTAPS, Tet’s involvement is certainly a good sign.
