Today Kid Cudi announced over Twitter his outrage with Universal about their handling of WZRD as an indie side project. Having only shipped very few physical copies and done very little promo, Cudi reacts and announces that his next album will be another WZRD album with Dot Da Genius and that ‘Man on the Moon 3′ will have to wait until at least 2014. Universal Republic cannot be happy about that, which is the goal in the first place here.

A couple of weeks ago the Complex Magazine crew headed out to the desert in California to shoot Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius for a digital cover for their new rock project WZRD. In the accompanying interview, they speak about how the duo started recording music in Dot’s family’s apartment when Cudi was evicted, and how Dot’s parents family took Cudi in. Cudi also speaks candidly on a number of topics including: his daughter; Ben Breedlove, the young man who said Cudi was his favorite rapper in a video shortly before he died from cardiac arrest; Jamie, the subject of his song “Teleport 2 Me, Jamie” and his “Pink” tattoo that represents the troubled fictional character Pink Floyd came up with in “The Wall.” You can read the full story at Complex.

Kid Cudi’s new WZRD, done in collaboration with “Day N Nite” producer Dot Da Genius drops February 28, 2012. Today we can share the track list and 30 second snippets of each track.

Kid Cudi unveiled a couple of hours ago the new logo and album cover art for his collaborative project with Dot Da Genius, under the name WZRD. A simple black cover with a logo graphic sitting in the middle. Set for a release on January 30th, 2012, the 28th birthday of Kid Cudi, we are definitely curious to find out what the new album will sound like.

The WZRD project by Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius was only announced last week. Today we can already present the first song from the album that is supposed to be release on January 30th, 2012.

Today Kid Cudi announced via Twitter that he and producer Dot Da Genius have changed the name of forthcoming project from 2 Be Continuum to W Z R D, which is short for WIZARD. Though the title of the album is still undetermined the official release has been scheduled for January 30, 2012, Cudi’s birthday. Also of note is the news that the album will not contain any profanity, “a universal album for everyone.”
