Y-3 dedicated part of their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection to the upcoming FIFA Soccer World Cup next year. The Classic Field Style sneaker comes in gold with black adidas logo striped and the corresponding country color on the side-panels. Matching they also present some t-shirts. Look out for a release some time mid next year.

In celebration of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the Y-3 Spring/Summer 2010 collection took a global tour of modern sport style, rendered in the label’s signature of elegant athleticism. Shown on Sunday, September 13th as part of New York fashion week, the collection underscored an abstract idea of World Cup dressing.

Y-3 is where fashion and sport collide, a fact that was emphasized by the front-row presence of professional footballer Zinedine Zidane. A sport icon and contemporary legend in his own right, Zidane watched as models strode down the catwalk to a soundtrack of American rock classics, Michael Jackson, and symphonic national anthems. Others in attendance included Rufus Wainwright, Lupe Fiasco, Russell Simmons, Devon Aoki, Casey Spooner, Leigh Lezark, and Geordon Nicol.

The collection, shown for the first time in the Uptown Park Avenue Armory Building, was highlighted with a bold lighting concept and industrial stadium installation that enhanced the tension of sport and fashion.

This season, Yohji Yamamoto and adidas explored an intellectual approach to the beautiful game of soccer. The show included exaggerated silhouettes, loose-cut trousers, and abstract flag motifs in the colorways of eight soccer federations sponsored by adidas: South Africa, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, France, and Russia. Soccer shorts were cut long and extra wide, oversized plaid shirts skimmed the knees, and laser-cut jersey tube dresses emphasized an idea of light, transparency, and movement. The collection paired the wit and intellect of Mr. Yamamoto with the innovation of adidas.

The show closed with a penalty kickoff by Mr. Yamamoto and Zidane as they shot two soccer balls into a massive net that descended from the ceiling.

Y-3 has gotten together with artist Momo, who worked on the Hayworth Mid II model of the brand. The outcome are three colorful creations, that resemble modern art. The sneakers come limited to 350 pairs worldwide and will retail for about 448 USD. Also each sneaker comes in a box especially designed for the release.

Isetan will be showcasing the sneakers from September 2nd and they will be released during Vogue Magazine’s global Fashion Night Out celebration on September 10th at the Y-3 flagship store in Shinjuku.

As some of you might know by now, as of this season the Y-3 luggage collection is produced by Samsonite. We give you a look at the Lux Series from the Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The brand presents a duffle bag, neck bag and a messenger bag in the series. All three come with a black horse hair upper with further black leather details setting the accents.

A very solid boot is come from the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The Kuteitai boots come in two colorways – all black and distressed navy blue with a striped design around the ankle. The brand created a nice modern take on a boot in this case and presents two nice colorways for the upcoming collection.

An interesting fusion of a boot and high top sneaker, the Hemla, comes as part of the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The sneaker comes in two black versions, one clean leather version and one vintage leather version. Definitel some solid footwear for the colder season.

Today we give you a look at another popular high top model from the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The Honja Hi comes in three colorways – black/blue/white striped, black/white and brown. The black and the brown colorways are very solid. We like the used look on the brown premium leather and the perforated parts on the black as well. The striped colorway asks for a little more attention. Look out for these later this summer.

Yesterday we showed you the Hayworth Mid II from the Y-3 Fall 2009 Collection. Here now a look at the pink colorway of the low top Ikuno sneaker. We really like how the entire shoe, including the mid-sole comes in pink. It is certainly a strong colorway, but since its otherwise very clean, one can pull it off.

Today we give you a look at the new Y-3 Fall/Winter 2009 Hayworth Mid II. The high top sneaker comes with a new ankle strap, a feature that one can find on pretty much any new high top release these days. It comes in red, blue and black, with a nice premium wrinkled leather upper. We like that the sneaker comes in tonal colorways.
