The adidas ZX 8000 comes in a poppy white and coral colorway for April. “Introduced in 1989 as one of the original members of the ZX family, the 8000 was considered to be one of the most technical running shoes of its time with TORSION technology and the Unity Heel. This premium limited edition features leather & nubuck overlays and airflow mesh uppers.” Now available at hanon.

The ZX 8000 first appeared in 1989 as a lightweight running model with superior cushioning and a range of more technical elements than previous members of the ZX family.

This version introduces a suede and patent leather combination to the upper in a grey and purple colourway for a clean and stylish result. The toe box and elements of the side panel are constructed in a fine grained, premium suede while the toe bumper and lace stays join up in patent grey with matching grey on the ghilly lacing system.

The Puralite midsole is a colour-blocked purple with small elements of grey, and works extremely well with the matching upper albeit in different materials. An up-to-date, fashionable interpretation of one of the most iconic runners in the adidas catalogue.

Today we present you the first part of the adidas Consortium Runners Pack. This part of the pack consists of two solid new versions of the ZX 8000 and the Torsion Special. Some nice premium materials have been used on the running shoes, while the pack certainly keeps an overall classic look.

Today we’re able to give you a detailed look at the Darth Vader ZX 8000 from the adidas Originals Star Wars collection. One of the most interesting aspects of the pack, that we weren’t able to show you before is the packaging. Each pair of shoes comes packaged in a plastic blister pack on cardboard, much in the same vein as the classic Star Wars toys, which really adds an extra bit of nostalgia. The original colorway of the adidas ZX 8000 running shoe is being released once again. The sneaker will first come to the Berlin O-Store next month in a limited run of only 50 sneakers and will then see a general release across Europe for Spring 2010. The adidas ZX 8000 Retro comes in the original acqua blue/yellow colors and looks as good today as it did at the time.

You can get ready for a strong release from the adidas Originals Fall 2009 Collection. Some of our favorite footwear is releasing these coming weeks in some great colorways and materials. The ZX 700 Boat comes in three colorways, featuring corduroy and suede on the upper, reflective stripe details and more. adidas also introduces the ZX 700 Winter Hi, a boot version of the iconic running shoe. After previously showing you the blue and the yellow/orange colorways of the adidas Originals by Originals Fall/Winter 2009 David Beckham ZX 8000, we show you the cleanest version of the sneaker today. It comes in all white premium leather with metallic gold accents. There is not much to day about the shoe, it is simple, classic, premium – no complaining from our side.

Gathering 22 of the world’s key retailers, from streetwear stores to high end boutiques – all with their own individual vision concerning design and style – the aZX project comprises an open brief for limited-edition release collaborations to run alongside classic adidas ZX running shoe designs.

The logical conclusion to the aZX concept is to take the project and alphabet full circle by celebrating it with the two minds behind the adidas ZX legacy.

Jacques Chassaing and Markus Thaler, have played unique roles in the birth and ongoing love affair that shoe connoisseurs have with our brand and the ZX running collection both past and present, Jacques is one of the famous adi designers responsible for many iconic adidas styles including all the ZX designs, while Markus was the shoe craftsman who brought all the iconic and timeless shoes to life.

Jacques began his shoe making and designing career in the early 1970’s, being a key member of adidas France from its inception in 1981 and progressing to his current role as Design Concepts Director.

Markus started his career with adidas back in early 70’s working alongside Adi Dassler, learning from the master himself and continuing adi’s craftsmanship legacy in the creation of some of the most famous styles, more recently playing a leading role in the development of the Equipment and Torsion-bar ranges.

Both men are constantly striving to improve and innovate, and the finale of the AZX collection offers a rare opportunity for these pioneers to revisit the much-revered ZX 8000 silhouette and create a handmade interpretation of the design that embellishes the shoe’s key elements using the finest, most cutting edge materials and applications.

There couldn’t be a more appropriate conclusion to a celebration of a seminal running shoe on a grand scale as the original collaborators return to the iconic source material once again with the legendary stripes, lines and panels revisited, and the ZX truly redefined.

The ZX 8000, which makes up the Z and X in the alphabet of the collaboration series, will be released in very limited quantities. Each consortium retail partner will receive only one (1) pair of the sneaker and can choose how to give them away. Funnily they seem to be the complete opposites. Where the WoodWood ZX 9000 stays very subtle and classic in terms of colors, the Undefeated ZX 8000 comes in a complete neon outfit.
