What We’re Saying: Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton have delivered a new selection of LV Trainers for Summer 2021. Not only is the basketball-inspired sneaker available in fresh colorways, but the LV Trainer Mules — aka VirgilStocks — are, too.
Leading the seasonal assortment is a vibrant neon pink pair that is covered in rhinestones "to attract light and style at every step," Louis Vuitton says. Three additional pairs of the LV Trainer emerge in suede leather and denim, ultimately drawing from the house's ready-to-wear line.
It's undoubtedly the bright color combos that draw attention to the collection, as we see burgundy paired with orange, green contrasted with yellow, and blue enhanced with black accents, for example, executed in grained and smooth leather. Each pair rests on a rubber sole injected with gel and decorated with contrasting monogram flowers, while the LV signature serves to brand the footwear on the tongue and side. A nod to the year Louis Vuitton was founded (1854), the number 54 then appears on the heel.
