The Satorialist doesn't like my style!

I was in Soho yesterday and saw Scott Schuman, aka the Satorialist, and he didn't take a photo. I'm beginning to think he doesn't like me.

It was hot as hell in NY yesterday, so as I often get in the summer months I was in full on relaxed prep style. I had on a blue Engineered Garments oxford with white contrast stitching, slim fit J.Crew khaki chinos, white leather Chuck Taylor looking VisVims, and white Super sunglasses (I know, very cliche, but I got them as a gift from the good people at BPMW/Capsule).

As I past he took a double take but no photo request. I cried myself to sleep last night.

Plaid Men in August's GQ

Before I can even pick up the issue, A Continuous Lean has scans of another nice feature in August's GQ. This month they hit you with Mr. John Slattery AKA Roger Sterling, of critically acclaimed television show, Mad Men, cloaked head-to-toe in plaid suiting. It makes me wish I had more occasions to wear a suit. Check out ACL for all the photos.

Call of the Wild Shapes and Triangles Tees

Clothing label Call of the Wild is the work of London-based graphic design duo Kai and Sunny. They are known for their unique application of design and art culminating in original apparel. Call of the Wild’s original concept was inspired by John Wyndham’s novel, Day of the Triffids, written in the 1950’s. It was the idea of nature fighting back. As Kai puts it,"most of our work has a connection with nature and shapes and limited colour palettes." The Shapes in Grey Marl, now $27, and the Triangles in White, now $18, (both pictured above) are available at NewDandyism.

NewDandyism's entire stock of Call of the Wild is on sale from 55-80%! And everything else in the store is discounted at least 50%. This is only going on for a limited time, so take advantage of it while you can.

WoodWood on the Runway

Our friends at WeAreTheMarket have made the trip to fashion week in Copenhagen.  They know, as we all do, how influential Scandinavian design, particularly designers from Copenhagen, have been over the last few seasons. As they tell it,"we finally decided to get on over to Copenhagen for the CPH and Gallerie Shows, to soak up some Nordic influence and meet some cool people and cool brands. We caught the Danish brand Wood Wood's fashion show earlier this evening. For it's 7th collection, called the "big bang" collection, Wood Wood  considers serious issues such as global warming, Armageddon, and the futuristic idea of space colonization. For men, classic and casual streetwear-- basic tees, classic shirts, chinos, jeans, knitwear and sweatshirts-- are twisted into interesting silhouettes. Fabrics range from classic mix of dark navy corduroy, light denim chambray, check flannel, to lambswool knitwear. Womenswear reflected a tomboyish edge using menswear materials, colors, and shapes. We personally love the plaid knee length shorts!"

"And always known for their exciting collaborations, Wood Wood teamed up again with heritage outerwear maker Penfield with a new bordeaux-red leather jacket." See more pics after the jump.

The Spring/Summer '08 collection will be landing in stores in the next couple weeks. You will be able to find it online at NewDandyism.  We'll keep you posted when these items and more become available.

Obedient Sons on the Runway

Designer, Swaim Hutson, of Obedient Sons, presented his Autumn collection during NY fashion week and proved why he was named one of the top menswear designers in America by GQ and the CFDA. We've watched the evolution of Sons over the last few years from a rock n' roll aesthetic to being compared along the likes of Lanvin. The collection for men, and now women showed us what he has in store for us next season. The show featured a blend traditional menswear fabrics and silhouettes with hunting elements such as riding jackets, hunting trousers with patched knees, but always with a twist. Find this season collection at better boutiques and NewDandyism in the coming weeks. More photos after the jump, courtesy of men.style.com.

Arkitip x Wood Wood

Our friends at WeAreTheMarket.com are reporting about a very special  collaboration between our favorite avante-garde highend streetwear brand, Wood Wood, and Arkitip. While most magazines focus on selling ad space, Arkitip has gone in the opposite direction, creating unique, limited-edition, hand-numbered art books that focus on high quality production. For the upcoming issue, #44, the Arkitip curators have gathered past, present and future contributors, and pulled together a motley crew of diverse artists for a group show entitled Highmath. The show, consisting primarily of work on paper including silk screens, lithographs and hand-done originals, will exhibit both existing and never before seen work. The Arkitip team has handed over design and production responsibilties of issue to Wood Wood.
