From the ground up

The year is almost over and we have seen once again tons of new sneakers, collaborations and more. We have seen good, interesting and strange sneakers from the big players this year, but it sure looks like one of the most interesting is yet to come, by none other than Undefeated and Adidas.
Undefeated and Adidas got together to celebrate the “1979” Top Ten sneaker. The outcome is an amazing box set. The sneaker looks subtle, but has lots of nice small details, such as the “basketball” like upper, golden plated lace jewels and eyelets, and the transparent sole finishing. The sneaker comes in a black box, with real wood flooring, and a book, featuring photographs by long time documenter Estevan Oriol.

The sneakers will be released in February at Adidas Consortium stores, such as Solebox and Foot Patrol. Limited to 650 pairs worldwide, the set will go for 450 USD. It’s expensive, but it has been a while since we have seen something this special and well executed. Probably the most interesting pack fro Adidas all year. Via Crooked Tongues.
