Pulling from the museum’s collection of prints, drawings, and photographs, Skyscrapers at the Philadelphia Museum of Art presents images of the true icons of early 20th-century urban architecture. As much about a modern look than they are about human achievement, Skyscrapers offered inventive solution to spacial concerns in the American city. Through the exhibition, views of Chicago’s Gothic-ornamented Tribune Tower, the Art Deco masterpieces of New York, and Philadelphia’s own modernist gem (the PSFS Building) are presented.

Skyscrapers is on view until November 1, 2009.
