Where form meets function

Opening on October 3 and running until October 31, 2009, Dark Surrealism brings paintings and prints by six internationally acclaimed artists to Newcastle’s Opus Art.

Dark Surrealism is a collection of paintings and prints by Dan Baldwin, Claudia Drake, Marie Blanco Hendrickx, Laurie Hogin, Laurie Lipton and Kirsty Whiten. Visually these artists may be working in very different styles, but they have in common a love of the surreal, macabre and fairy tale. Subjects include strange, hybrid creatures, skeletons, predatory femme fatales, top-hatted rabbits, clowns and beautifully strange dolls.

Opus Gallery is located at West Avenue, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE3 4ES.
