Hosted by the ICA Philadelphia, Tim Rollins and K.O.S.: A History is the first major museum retrospective of the artist, activist, and teacher. K.O.S. (kids of survival) was made up of a group of Rollins’ students from Intermediate School in the South Bronx. Together they combined exercises in reading and writing with an exploration of art. Cutting up magazines, they produced large scale, minimalist works on canvas.

The exhibition covers the years 1984 to 2000. In all 20 works are represented. Tim Rollins and K.O.S. remains on view until December 6, 2009.
